Interesting stuff coming out now about sodium.

There are some who are now saying that high sodium levels don't really mean jack - your body can easily just pee it out.

Not sayin' I agree with it - just sayin' it's out there....

Reminds me of the egg/cholesteral debate that cycle's through every 10 years.

They were already dealing with the middle eastern countries and keeping it under raps was smart in that sense. The problem is, the whole world thinks we're running out of it so the price is retarted, great for business but total BS. Imagine the development in third world countries if they opened up the oil and the price went way down.

I agree on intentional shortages.

But it's a finite supply and we are burning through it like no tomorrow. Literally.

There's a reason the biggest exploration projects in the world are in places that are harder and harder to get to.

If the point is that modern medicine and science is keeping people alive longer and as a result more people are subject to disease (because of their old age) then I'd agree with that.

I'm not sure science, good science, has proven that we are living less healthy lifestyles that is in turn equating to more disease.

What were people dying of 75 years ago?

Alzheimers and autism aren't related to lifestyle - both are believed to be genetic. Cancer is more debatable but rates climb due mostly to increased life expectancies ....Diabetes I give you though - clearly related to lifestyle and diet.

- The Law

Hold on though, more people are getting cancer at 30 then ever before. It isn't just old people. More kids are getting more diseases. Alzheimers is a lack of colesteral.

- Dozzer

Dozzer, I'm slammed at work, but I assume you have a garden right? Planted form seeds? Where do you get the seeds, previous plants? Every tomato on the market has in some way or another been genetically modified. I could send you links discussing organic foods, but I'm in the middle of writing an article, and while i can tell my boss I'm promoting the industry and sector and our publication on here, I doubt she'd be happy with that. So I'll pm you later amigo.

I know they have surpassed this dependancy on oil also because of the hidden tech. When they revealed the b2 bomber it was 30 years after it had been invented. When we got the internet it was found out that they were using a base internet system in Vietnem, 30 plus years before. They have tech thats way beyond what we could ever know, but letting the masses benefit is bad for business. "Sell a man a fish, he eats for a day. This one's a strange one.....its on the rise in North America. Many theories tie this to certain vaccines, that triggered something in our genes. But guess what, there is hope, they've isolated these biomarkers, and eventully they'll have the ability to turn the back off or inhibit them.

Some of the autism rates are due to better diagnosis (my wife's uncle was simply "weird" - the best guess is he had acute Asperger's Syndrome - but they simply had no idea what that was when he was growing up, and he remained undiagnosed until the day he died).

But there is something going on, imho.

Same thing with allergies.

But before people start accusing me of destroying my own argument above, you also need to look at the diseases and other ailments that are waning or are in fact eliminated.

You need to buy Heirloom seeds. And man do the foods they produce taste good. Totally better than GMO seeds. Research shows heirlooms have 10 times the nutritional value of cross bred species.

Scientists are actually now certain that non-dietary diabetes is an autoimmune disease.

As for Alzheimer's, you are right about the cholestoral, but there are many instances that also show it is a very epigenetic disease. Meaning, your great grandfather may have come into contact with something that changed a marker in his genes, that gene was passed down to you.

In your example, so many of our fathers/grandfathers that were in the world war's, and malnourished, had the marker turned on (lack of cholestoral), and while it didn't do immediate damage, by the time they got older, the damage had been done. There is a chance that marker has been passed on down to you.

I don't know. I know the mercury from thermosol in vaccines can get lodged in the brain in some people though.

The number one risk factor is age, number two is genetics, number three is being a woman (because they live longer than men).

High blood chloresteral ranks up there with other common sensical life style risks like being fat, smoking, being unsocial (seriously).

So Alzheimer's is caused by being a loner (i.e. spending too much time on hockeybuzz).

Medical advancement contributes to quality of life.

If you don't die from an infection, and you are able to come back to work and be healthy and happy, that's quality of life.

Same with clean drinking water.

And it's especially true of the various ways in which we now prevent food from spoiling, which was a real killer.

- Atomic Wedgie

ok.. we are debating different things here

you consider medical advancement to add to quality of life

i feel differently. if you need to rely on medicine to prop up your life then science has improved and not overall lifestyle

my point is.. we shouldnt NEED constant third party intervention to maintain a healthy lifestyle.. we should be able to do that on our own.. but we cant.. cause we live in a world where we are given too many poor choices options.

here is a perfect scenario.

beef farmers (large scale) will feed their cattle food that is meant to fatten them up right before they truck them off to the scales. this increases the overall fat content in the beef, which, in turn, makes it far unhealthier.

Due to this practice maintained by large scale cattle farming fat being taken in by the consumer rises, which, starts to raise cholesterol levels, which, in turn require medical attention in many many cases. So, in order to maintain their qualilty of life, people need to help of a medical professional.

WHEREAS

the person who eats organically grain fed beef is eating meat that hasnt been plumped up tp tip the scales. beef that is far leaner and healthier. because this person has taken in 530-50% less fat in their diet (while eating the same meals) they do NOT have to seek the aid of a medical professional to maintain their lifestyle.

obviously i am talking about averages here but you need to face the truth of it.. industrially tampered with foods are not healthy. period.

the same will happen with vegetables.. its just a matter of time til we find out what.
