I would have loved to watch a Hawks VS Leafs game this year, givin the styles of the two teams. I hope u guys can for the most part keep that team in tact or even make it better so next year we can throw down. You guys are fun to watch, should have beat Boston, such a shame....

Get the Russian! Malkin-light. Kids a stud, will be the best player out of this class IMO.

I'd sign Kessel to an 8 year deal and if Dion is willing to get 5 mill sign him to a 5 year extension. But they the Leafs must get more of a supporting cast for Dione especially someone who can back him up properly and cut Phaneuf's ice time to just 20 minutes you'll get better results from him.

Yeah, but I wasn't kidding about wanting Bryz for a backup after he is bought out. 2 years at 4mil sound about rite?

8 years.... 8 mill per?

Doubt Dion takes that big of a cut even though he should

Kessel should get something between 6.5-7M max. Phaneuf id try to lowball even less than 5, probably 4-4.5

Loiselle said that the Leafs have talked about going after someone else's problem to buy them out.

No.

Vancouver STILL moronically thinks they are going to get a A+++ package for him, and Philly isn't going to pay the Leafs to take their problem, they have tons of money. They can fix their own problems.

Would you rather have some tough guys who can chip in though? I'm sure Orr is a great guy and his team mates like him but would their not be smarter options?

Roster spots are valuable.

I'm going to take a book off of the Dozzer shelf and tell you about a little thing called balance.

We need big guys who can take down opposing big guys because are skilled guys are smaller and cant really protect themselves.

Until we get players like Clarkson and such who are skilled enough and know how to handle themselves physically, we need bombers on the back end.

Does anyone know for certain if the compliance buyout actually calls for a player to have a certain amount of games played? I know people seem to think it's part of the rule, but I haven't seen this anywhere.

Why can't the Leafs keep Vinny? I liked the deal when I thought we could keep Vinny. Vinny could help us now & the 3rd pick for the future.

As Eddie Murphy said in Delrious when he used to get hard on's in school & the teacher would ask him to come to the front of the class he'd say

"that's ok, I take the zero"

He would help us now no doubt.

But he has one of the worst contracts in the league. He has to be bought out. If for some reason he was to retire before the end of his contract, which he will (because he is not going to play the last two years for nothing) the team with him would get a substantial cap penalty because he would be 35+.
