Makes perfect sense if trading Miller and Vanek to take on a contract (7.5 cap hit) with a lower salary (5mil). Helps get them to the floor while still having an asset that would bring a nice return at the deadline(since he is a UFA at seasons end). Plus he help replace some of the production they lose by trading Vanek.
