i still have high hopes for myers ..
- gerbe75pts

Me too. However: hope for the best, plan for the worst. We've invested a lot in Myers not just financially but in terms how we plan to build our team. If he doesn't pan out and we don't have a contingency plan, it could set the organization back several years.

wasnt the rumor that pegula really wanted hodgson? and darcy got it done so maybe pegula is a fanboy now
- robz228

I never heard that. It's just confusing to me. They want to go balls out and sign FA's like Hoff and Leino, they attempted to sign Suter, Parise, Richards etc. Yet they finally fire Lindy and they don't try to throw money at a big name coach or at least interview anyone. I like Rolston, don't mind him getting a shot, but Darcy confuses me

I don't think he has a NMC anymore .

I don't want him on the sabres ( good player) but he killed some one and got off free

- gerbe75pts

Well he wouldn't be on the Sabres any longer than July 4th (last day of compliance buyouts).

I just don't get it. What has Darcy done to convince Pegula he is worth keeping? It just seems no one in this organization players included were worried about their jobs or winning until they fired Ruff
- sbroads24

Here is what I've been told.

Darcy is a very, very smart man and says what he has to to keep his job. I don't know if he has pulled the wool over TP's eyes but it seems that way. I know Lindy pretty much told TP how things were after he got fired and it kinda caught TP off guard.

From everything Ive heard, from multiple people, Darcy is a huge problem and until he is gone we're screwed.

It was time and its not all on Myers obviously, I just dont think Rolston is the right choice. He is a Darcy yes man, and watch how boring we play next year. Way to conservative.
- Homer

it's going to end in a top 3 pick ..

w/e it's going to suck next year for all of us

IDK. How boring have the Sabres been the last few years, going back to when Peters couldn't win a fight?

Rochester was at the tops of the league in goals for and PP.

- Jacob582

Peters literally broke McGrattons face in a fight and McGratton is a tough cookie, but I guess he didnt win any fights.

Agreed. Apparently or it seems that Lindy and Darcy were great friends, I wonder if that has changed at all.

Towards the end of his career Peters was as boring (in fights) as the team around him.

They weren't as close as everyone believed.

Darcy is terrified of people he trades (or fires) of going on somewhere else and succeeding.

Wiki:
"MacTavish missed the 1984–85 season after being convicted of vehicular homicide, having struck and killed a young woman while he was driving under the influence of alcohol. MacTavish pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol in an accident the night of January 25, 1984, in Peabody, Massachusetts. Kim Radley, 26, of West Newfield, Maine, died four days later of injuries sustained in the crash.[5] MacTavish spent a year in jail as punishment for this offence. While incarcerated, he watched most of the games that were televised. After MacTavish was released from prison, the Bruins offered to let him out of his contract. MacTavish accepted"

I think:
-Leino: 50% chance
- A player Sabres acquire in trade: 80% chance

Around the League:

Ballard
Booth
Briere
Luongo
Richards
Bryz: 50% chance
RDP
to name a few.

Good evening....

See that homer dropped by... thay was nice to read...

I am surprised he picked vanek gone and miller stays... soundes to ke like miller was forcing his way out... he just kind of was an ahole all last year.. I so think miller would be mode willing to take a pay cut than vanek though.

Is gerbe still round?

Stallworth wasn't even responsible for the guy that he killed. The guy ran right in front of him trying to catch a bus after getting out of work. He was legally drunk so there is always the 'maybe he could have reacted faster' argument, but it wasn't like he drove off the road and hit the guy.
