Not top 5, but top 10 probably. To be honest, I wouldn't do that deal if I'm the leafs. Kulimen is severely underrated and is exactly what you guys need on the third line. But I'd prefer to keep him.
Gardiner has a similar potential to your Schultz and I wouldnt trade one for the other from either teams perspective.

A guy like Rob Scuderi is perfect for Justin Schultz and could fill out the top 6 perfectly IMO

If you read what I said I don't think so either.

I don't think there are any available. Yandle is the closest thing to it but I don't think he's the piece to put us over the top.

Scuderi Schultz Schultz petry smid and judging by the scouting reports belov too. All these guys are capable of playing top 4 minutes. Are they cream of the crop top 4 d men? No not really a few can be but they for the most part aren't. All together though these 6 guys can play a more balanced defense where although we don't have the minute eater (something I wouldn't trust Yandle to be) we have six guys who can all play top for minutes when they need to.

Basically what I'm saying is the oilers blue line is not going to be able to compete with the chicago's and Boston's of the NHL but this lineup is a solid group that can get the job done as 6 guys who are all on the same page.

I don't think scuderi is a top pairing d man but Schutlz is our guy and IMO scuderi matches the best with J Schultz. In my eyes if the oilers had this pairing we would have fairly even minutes among the blue liners (obvious differences in terms of who's playing good and who isn't as well as PP and PK time) I think this is the one of the best options we have at the moment.

I don't want to be the team that trades the bank away just so we can get a 7th or 8th seed. Of course I want playoff hockey in Edmonton again but I want them to mean something

You know, it's one thing to not really care about other teams, not follow them. You've always been open about that -- you care about the Edmonton Oilers. That's who you blog about. So no real harm done there.

But does that mean you feel the need to sound like an absolute clown when you post something like this: The comedy in all of this is, the Flyers had a cap issue to cope with before they acquired Streit. The player wants around $5mil per season; meaning, the Flyers cap problem is about to go from bad to worse. If you ask me, and I'm just a peasant I realize, the Flyers should be more concerned about adding young pieces to take over when the vets move on. The current average age of the D on the team is 71.

That last sentence is laughable. It's mind-blowing in its sheer ignorance, to the degree that you not only embarrass yourself, you embarrass any credibility this website has.

Their seventh defenseman is Erik Gustafsson, who is 23 years old.

Kulemin is really good actually. That's one of the first guys I'd pursue this summer if I were EDM. He plays some of the toughest minutes of any forward in the league and puts up decent numbers. He'd be a great fit on a line with RNH-Eberle.
