letang is terrible for give aways at the wrong time. the oilers don't need a goal scoring D as we have lots of fire power up front. we need a mean stay at home D to stop dubynuk from facing 25 35 shots a night so we can c if the soft goal stops if he faces a normal amount of shots night in and out. letang does have a good 1st pass out of the zone though but not 10million a year good

He exaggerated for sure, but this isn't true either. Your defensive core, especially with 38 year old Timmonen and 35 year old Streit is definitely considerably older than the Oilers.

the flyers got a taste of one of the best D ever and wont b good til hes replaced just like the oilers, pronger never replaced=7yrs no playoffs. I know philly has a better team then the oilers and will make the playoffs in the next 7yrs but wont ever b a threat til hes replaced little own ur losing one of the best playoff preformers in briere this year

don't get me wrong if the deal was made without losing r biggest warrior in smid id agree but 10 million for letang i just don't c it, the 3 or 4 players u could get with that money would b a better bet. plus Shultz will kinda b like letang in 2or 3 years. if the oilers could get players to come to etown we wouldn't have so many problems, which is why i agreed with drafting young players, but we need D a proven back up and afew bottom six players so if we have 2 over pay to get players do it there not coming here any other way, hence brown,smithenson,fistric everyones garbage though fistric hits hes so slow, brown was the best but he can only make such an impact on the 4th line but had awesome compete and was the only player to drop the gloves besides sam lol

Would rather have Smid. You can keep Paajarvi. Smid is exactly what the Penguins need in their D corp. They have a bunch of young, offensive minded D-men coming up in the next few years, and only 1 stay at home prospect in the system.

Yeah you guys worked by the tougher team and seemed to lack that grime and tenacity - but the Pens have had that facet in their game before.....anyway, I wouldn't get too caught in some new tunnel vision where you need a bunch of stay at homes. It's under a microscope now and that's understandable.

Crosby is actually getting paid more. He got his deal done before the lockout, and is getting paid 10+ mil a year for the 1st 6 years of the contract.
