just to be a richard

8 of the top 8 teams in each conference with the most points made the playoffs

- dragus84

That isn't being a Richard.

The Fenwick guys are turning into a bunch of obnoxious Aholes over the whole thing.

The best is when you hear "it's universally accepted and proven" when isn't not even close

Ya, in most aspects of life I'm a big math/science guy, but in sports there are just so many things you can't account for with a numbers break down.

Sure if you wanna say the team with better puck possession has a better chance of winning, there's some validity in it. But to live and die by a system that ranked alexander steen ahead of crosby, is pretty (frank)ed

Watch Out! To Trade Komisarek that pail of sand would have a Sharp Object contaminated with Hep C and the Bird Flu.
- Jimmy_wiener

I like that trade. That pail can get around Komi, but Komi can't get around that pail.

Agreed. It's laughable when you question them "you don't understand" yeah ok, I'm a numbers guy,I deal with it all day i understand it perfectly. That is why I find so many flaws with it.

I love stats, but these are just not there.

It's such a flawed stat, it needs lots of work.

Exactly how I feel.

pretty sure I got close to 100 percent in stats class. I understand it. I challenge it's validity as anything close to a be all and end all of determining the quality of a team/player.

edit: anyone selling a riding lawn mower... mine seized up.

no?

Panthers introduce $7 dollar tickets

The 44-game package for $7 a game is available for 500 seats in various locations in the 400 level of the BB&T Center, Panthers spokesman Matt Sacco said.

The deal includes parking, a Panthers jersey and a ticket to four concerts in a concert series for season-ticket holders.

I look at the roster and injuries.

Then I don't bother predicting anyway.

If you pick the most obvious winners/losers you will still be wrong a significant percentage of the time... or we would all be rich on ProLine

Nope.

Did Fenwick predict the devils and kings to go to the cup last year?

You're proving my point by saying how unpredictable it is.

I can't predict what's going to happen by watching and having an opinion, but I enjoy it, because I enjoy watching the game.

Fenwick/Corsi can't predict poop either, because as per your argument its hard to predict, because there are a million x factors especially in a game like hockey. Watching hockey has a point (entertainment value). Spending time fiddling with meaningless stats doesn't.

I think MacT has the great opinion on the matter... He's obviously gonna use his intuition and hockey knowledge to make a decision, but with the science and stats a available today you'd be stupid not to look at it.

Go with a combination of both schools of thought.

Anyone see the TO rumour posted in the Tbay forum about the leafs offering mid level roster players and a package of prospects for the 3rd overall pick and Vinny Lecavalier. TO would then buy out Vinny.

Anyone read the Lecalvier to the Leafs apparent offer in the newest blog up?
