Hard to gauge where he fits in, he didn't get a full role with the Marlies this year, I think we will know more after the coming season if he has a full time roster spot with the Marlies.
- LeafMan

That's fair. I heard he played well in the playoffs but, I don't follow the Marlies that closely. Perhaps with a good off-season and strong showing in camp he can take the next step.

Sounds more to me like Kulie.
- UsernameUnknown

He's not a tank like Kulemin. He's not going to throw too many hits. He'll forecheck with pressure, but he's not putting any fear into the other team.

Not that Kulemin puts all that much fear, I guess.

McKegg could definitely get his start, eventually, as a third liner who forechecks a lot, responsible defensively, he’s pretty quick, but not lightning quick. He’s not an agitator. He’s like…. Grabovski I guess would be the best style of play comparison.
- Dirte

Grabo was a great fore-checker in the playoffs. I'd love to see him show even some of that aggression in the regular season.

He is more in your face type of player, what I saw from him he competes for the puck in the corners and along the boards, still a ways to go though.

I liken the 2012 Leafs to the 2012 Orioles. Both were young, exceeded expectations, statistically under-performed their playoff seeding and got booted early due to inexperience.

In 2013 the young Oriole players have taken a step forward and another layer of depth has emerged on the farm. Hopefully the Leafs can follow a similar trajectory this off-season and wind up in the playoffs.

Why is it we can compare hockey teams with baseball teams, but we can't compare apples with oranges?

Which NHL team would you compare the 2013 Blue Jays to?

Only listed at 6ft, 185lbs. He's not nearly as strong as Kulemin. He's just fast and forechecks hard.

Yeah, he's quick, and gets into the play, stirs stuff up, but not in a physical way. He'll dig around, but he's not gonna cause much pain.

And yeah, he's nowhere near ready for the show. A LONG ways to go.

Good idea. I like Dallas, a lot, plus his wife is going to improve Edmonton's hot women quotient.

I also admit my opinion of Ralph K. was formed almost completely on a post-game speech I saw on TV (and the Oiler's record, of course), but I thought he was absolutely uninspiring and boring, and couldn't understand how he'd ever gotten the job.

No. Komarov pisses people off and draws penalties, and throws them off their games though.

It can be arranged, have any smart ass remark to make at a ref again who had absolutely nothing to do with your 1st ban?
- LeafMan

My comment was directed at you after that ref said he was reinstating me because my ban was a misunderstanding , and you told him to let the ban stay !

So if you weren't involved in the banning why the hell would you voice your opinion for him to not overturn it ? Seriously ?

I'll go with the Flyers. Enough talent to put something good together...but weaknesses made it fall apart.

I getcha. Not big enough to play a physical-style game like Kulemin. But besides that, much similar. Which is pretty close to Grabo.

McKegg sounds like D'Amigo ...and Scott ...and other Marlie/former Marlie types.

I say we put him in the fridge and let him marinate, forget about him, then one day he might show up on our grill and surprise us.

I'm off to fire up the Q.

Yeah. Quick, lots of energy, forechecks, pretty responsible, ability to put the puck in the net.... Isn't gonna be throwing his weight around though. Like Grabs, he'll get in there and dig, but, more like he's gonna take a beating and keep on going like the damn energizer bunny, rather than give one.

The Leafs have Biggs, Broll, and Ross who will be in the NHL in a few years. I loved Komarov while he played for us, but trust me, Vancouver will not be the most hated team in the league when our next wave of prospects make the team.

I'd take Komarov back for cheap, but I'm struggling to figure out what he gave us besides some swagger and a boat load of hits.

It seems to me that there are plenty of players you could instruct to play that role.

If he put any points up on the board, it would be a different story.
