I'd take Komarov back for cheap, but I'm struggling to figure out what he gave us besides some swagger and a boat load of hits.
It seems to me that there are plenty of players you could instruct to play that role.
If he put any points up on the board, it would be a different story. - Leeman4Gilmour
He gave what the Leafs lacked. Grit.
He's a 4th liner who can actually play the game and wont hurt you defensively.
Komarov-Gordon-McClement would be an excellent 4th line. |

It just seems to me that you can find piles of that type of player on the free agent scrap heap. I'm not losing any sleep over Leo. |

For the record ....I like the Bruins in 6, maybe less.
Tukka's going to be able to buy that new Bugatti this summer. |

He wouldn't fill the role of Komarov. I meant he's a guy that could step in to a bottom 6 role in the near future that has some grit. - Lipchitz

McKegg could definitely get his start, eventually, as a third liner who forechecks a lot, responsible defensively, he’s pretty quick, but not lightning quick. He’s not an agitator. He’s like…. Grabovski I guess would be the best style of play comparison. - Dirte
He need to work on his defense then A lot!! |

Meant Fraser McLaren. I don't want us to soley depend on Mark Fraser to fight. He's one of our top 4 d men, we don't want him sitting in the box too much. |

]These kind of stunned decisions only confirm that Bell's involvement in anything is a disaster. Jim Ralph was the BEST colourman on radio or TV, Dudley is an ass, and Bowen with Ralph were a true plessure. Bell as usual has screwed up. |

The Leafs have Biggs, Broll, and Ross who will be in the NHL in a few years. I loved Komarov while he played for us, but trust me, Vancouver will not be the most hated team in the league when our next wave of prospects make the team. - BetterCallSaul

I see it differently. He's developing as a solid two way center more suited to a third line role.

The worst part of that whole story, if you believe Steve Simmons, is that the B's were going to release Raycroft that summer anyway. Leafs could have had him for zilch. Simmons also claims that the B's wanted Pogge but JFjr wouldn't move him for fear of backlash from the fanbase.
And to tie it all together - Pogge and Raycroft are watching Rask from their couches in Italy where they played this year. Actually that's not a bad gig either. |

I don't think he's known as a good defensive player.... and I think he spent more time on the wing this year. |

Simmons is annoying and sux. I can't stand that guy and don't really care what he has to say. Part of the problem with the Toronto media. |

Any ideas on What the Hell Happened to Pogge?? Kid was all Hyped up, but then looked like swiss cheese when I saw him play. |

not guys who can skate like him, and who agitate without taking penalties.
he was also able to fill in at center at times (more so early in the season) when there were injuries.
I don't know why you wouldn't offer him a 1.5/season for a few years.. good versatile player. |

Yes, I think so. Goalies have to have thick skin - whether that be because they're egomaniacs (Roy), self-absorbed wieners (Belfour), alcoholics (Sawchuk), have large penis's (The Law), etc...... They get blamed for everything so if they're made of glass, emotionally, they're much more likely to fail.
Raycroft and Pogge were both good examples of this.
Psych testing for goalies is critical.

Kadri draws far more penalties in my opinion and likely continues to play a bigger role.
If anything, he signs cheap fine. If he's gone, we can get someone else.
If you sign someone like Clarkson or Clowe, you've now added a top 6 capable agitator whose on the ice 15+ minutes a night.
Maxim Lapierre is a free agent. Good agitator type. Sign Gordon and then..
Frattin - McClement - Kulemin
Lapierre - Gordon - Orr
Then you have Colborne up and coming who can easily slide in the lineup somewhere. |

You could guarantee me he scores 50pts a season every season and I still wouldn't be able to stomach having this guy on my team.
