Holzer, Scrivens, Liles, 21st for 7th and Shultz?
- iTOLDu

I feel like oilers and leafs fans will go back and forth until the end of time trying to reunite gardiner and schultz either in Toronto or in Edmonton, but right now they figure too heavily into the future of their respective teams to make that happen.

nah you want him as center I think. He's gotten more responsible so the D side isn't an issue, but he needs the freedom to play the whole ice offensively.

He'll get out of position too much coming off the wing IMO, and also be a bit easier to contain.

- Big_Lightnin

Future #1 and #2 centers are Kadri and Colborne in my opinion. Grabovski's going to get moved the moment Colborne forces him out of the lineup; Nonis has done it three times with Connolly, Lombardi, and Komisarek and he'll do it again if/when the time comes for Grabovski to move on. I don't think it'll be next season, but soon.

I assumed he meant Nick Shultz, and it's still a bad trade for he Oil

Once Schultz is paired with a good stay at home dman, he will take off even more, he is already really good as PP QB.

As much as I like Schultz, we don't need another PMD. We need a #2 stay at home D to log big minutes and play alongside Phaneuf.

Okay sorry for giving you too much credit.....

The draft is much deeper so it goes something like this......
picks 1-5 are like and average drafts 1-3
6-9 would normally be top 5's
10-20 are like top 10's
20-30 are like top 20's
early 2nd round are like 20-30.

As for your logic with Kulemin it is quite sound...but depends on where he fits in the future and what FA's we get.

thanks.

Still, sometimes it's hard to tell who speaks for the educated majority of a fan base and who doesn't. those who thought Macarthur > Kulemin always boggled my mind.

Grabo will fine. This season was an anomaly for him, and he was admittedly having health issues that would certainly effect his energy levels.

I'm confident he bounces back to form next season. If Colborne can steal Normal Grabo's spot, then excellent.

Otherwise, I'm still not sold Colborne can play 2nd line C. But I do want to find out.

If Colborne continues to develop or you get that solid top 6 centre, do you think Kadri slides to the wing? I feel like he made some dynamic plays this year screaming down the boards and then cutting accross the middle.
- Morris

he's best as a center.

well, not officially for NHL, but he signed the deal didn't he? tough to turn down more than double the money.

Would like to keep him but not for more than $1.5M right now.

I expect one of D'Amigo, Ashton or Scott if resigned to get a shot, Hamilton is not out of the question either.

D'Amigo... there's a name I haven't heard in awhile.

How has he been doing as of late?

I remember when we were all 'rah rah' about him years ago but then it went quiet.

I think D'Amigo makes the most sense.... great speed, very good PK guy, energy..... We'll see.

Scott already left didn't he?? Signed in Sweeden....

nothing too fancy...

Lupul-Kadri-Kessel
JVR-Grabo-Clarkson
Kulemin-McClement-Frattin
Colborne/McLaren-Gordon-Orr
Ashton

Gardiner-Phaneuf
Gunnar-Franson
Fraser-Blacker
Holzer

Reimer
Scrivens

D actually looks worse than last year, but I don't see any of the UFA's available as upgrades, and I don't want to go stupid with trades (Scuderi I don't see coming to TO).

said it before, I think Ashton makes the team. Especially with Komarov gone. I think he takes that spot.
