That's cause he was a clear-cut rental pick-up. He was for playoff depth and that's it. He's gone.

Franson is tough because I really see him as a perfect lock on the 2nd pairing with Gardiner. He's big, effective and has a boomer shot. He just has to work on his footspeed a bit. I was surprised to hear a lot of you complaining about 2.5-3. I was thinking like a 5 year, 20 mill deal for Franson. Lock him in in his prime

- t_leafs21

Sign him for whatever...it cost the leafs a lot to get this guy. We took on Lombardi's salary to get this guy and then (frank)ing sat him upstairs in the pressbox....How the (frank) did Ron Wilson ever get to the NHL???? Also how does a GM trade for Franson and Lombardi's contract and then watch his coach play the contract and sit the player he wanted.....I would have fired that (frank) 10 minutes into the 1st game!!!! Sorry about the rant!!!

Haha it's true though. Between Barry Trotz, Ron Wilson & Randy Carlyle only one of them was a terrible enough coach to not take advantage of Franson's skill set.

Imagine if we had a coach who would have played Franson and gave him an inch of confidence...the sky could be the limit..but when he gets here....he's benched and when he does get played...he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders...1 bad bounce and it was back up in the (frank)ing press box....I need to have a meeting with Burke to see where his head was after he traded for Franson and took on a big salary, then to have (frank) head not play him!!!!!

Yes. Gotta give Reimer at least one more year before thinking about drafting a goalie in the first round.

Well at the time we had Luke Schenn as well. We traded for Liles too and then Gardiner emerged on the scene. But there was no excuse of sitting him for Komisarek as much as he did.

Stats say Komi played 45 games.

Franson had 5g, 21 points in 57 games on the 3rd pairing

Fucale would be a solid prospect. And Goalies don't just make the team cause theyre a 1st rounder, they have to pay their dues like everyone else. But, we drafted Sparks in the 7th round in 2011 and he looks okay. He'll be starting for the Marlies next year. I think were gonna take a forward. Rather Kerby Rychel or that 6'5 French kid from Rimouski, Gauthier

Fucale really raised his stock after that memo cup. I don't think he'll make it to 21

not to mention sparks has played very good for guelph and should be playing either in the echl or ahl next year. I still want them to try and move up in the draft to be honest

i'd rather not take gauthier just because we already have a big center in colborne who hasn't panned out yet

It's tough to say, as Fucale hasn't been rated as a first rounder, but a lot of the time the first goalie off the board is like a game of chicken. You don't want to take him early, but you don't want to miss out on him. I'd look at either Calgary, with picks at 22 and 28 to be a strong consideration to pick him.

That being said, tough to say no about a guy like Gauthier, who is a bit of a one-man demolition crew.

I can see Columbus taking Fucale with the 19 overall if he makes it. Word is Bobrovsky may bail to the KHL and I doubt they have any prospects there anyway.

It's all about depth though, we have a nice crop of wingers too. Biggs,Ross,McKegg,Leivo,Ashton.

How many actual centre prospects do we have other than Colborne. Colborne will probably end up being our 3rd line centre next year.

Also don't know what's going on behind the scenes either. What if we interviewed Gauthier and he said (frank) Toronto, I hate those blue and white motherf-uckers. Never know lol

Rychel sounds like a nice pick. Put up 87 points with Windsor this year. Any players coming out of London or Windsor are fine by me. Too bad Domi and Horvat won't make it. What a year to finish 5th in the east, jesus christ

fully admit I have no idea who Fucale is, but how could having too many big centers possibly be a problem?

Anybody we draft at 21 is minimum 2 years away from NHL.

Lack of depth as Center is one of the biggest problems on this team since Sundin left. Period.

Very easy to move a C to W. Not so much the other way around.

honestly i'd rather try and move up and draft alexander wennberg. was just reading some scouting reports and watching some vids (yea i know, not always the best way to get info on a player) but he looks like a very solid played and hes a center

Well, I don't think we'd be looking at any roster player whatsoever. If that's too low automatically, I suppose that's that.

We wouldn't give up a 1st, and we're missing our 3rd and 4th round picks. Strikes me any combo of 5th and 6th and whatever is far too low. So that leaves a 2nd, or prospects.

- Morris

I would take your 2nd for Scrivens and use it to draft Comrie

We'll do it just for the 24/7 show. With Burke gone someone has to step into the spotlight.
