Dude, c'mon.

I know PK is no Scott Stevens, but you have to admit he's much better than Franson in all-round situations.

Simply put: Franson can't be trusted with big minutes. At least not yet.

- Atomic Wedgie

um... neither could PK the last 3 years before his current contract. And he's still the 5th or 6th option for the PK.

Need to ask though - what are we arguing about here? what do you think he should get? Given the season he just had, anything under $2M is a slap in the face.

Franson and Josi aren't in the same wheelhouse. Nonis knows this... Franson knows this.

Josi was and will remain top pairing for Nashville.

Franson was very well isolated and excelled in the limited role he was given. When the role was expanded, he struggled.

2-3 yrs, $3M per is good for both sides

- Big_Lightnin

Franson has a cannon with a quick release...he will fetch much more than $3m per I believe...I could be wrong...but he got squeezed out by Wilson and the Leafs should have had him playing all of 2011-2012 and he would have been even more valuable in 2012-2013. They will sign him to 5 yearrs...and they should, I have always liked his play..sure he can get caught flat footed the odd time...but who doesn't with the speed of the league.

and now we have the other end of the spectrum

If they sign him to "much more than $3M per" for 5 years, I (frank)ing quit

No, I don't trust a player that spells Tony with an I,
- LeafMan

And there are no players in the HHOF with a hyphenated name - either first or last.

So we aren't taking any of those losers.

Twice.

Or how about 3 times. Can we make this trade 3 times?

He will take 2 million and a slap in the face.

You see kids back in my day we had to walk 10 miles uphill both ways to a farm to pick cherries for a dollar and god dammit we were told to and we liked it.

What the hell are we talking about again?

Not sure what you are quitting..but I think he will get more than $3m.

He is a beast on the pp and any team in the league will scoop him I think...

Just killing time?

$2 milly is too little.

$3 milly is too much, unless he wants to start giving up UFA years.

Can we agree on that?

Gardiner?

Hey I like Gardiner alot, but Gardiner played some of his best hockey alongside Franson in those last 3 gp. When I was arguing with HH about Gardiner's worth, Gardiner proved to be the 2nd most effective d-man in terms of numbers in the playoffs, but Franson was awesome with whoever he played with in those 3 games. Telling you it was as if a light bulb went off for Franson in that series and he figured poop out. Sorry, last 4 games:

I was referring to the dollar amount.

Ya that's were I am. And ya, Had a feeling we were essentially on the same page.

I said eary on $3M was the MAX he should get, and that was in response to Augello suggesting the $4M Josi got was a comparable for Franson.

Anything under $3M for 2-3 years I'm quite happy with.

He's RFA, not UFA.

If he was UFA, heck yes, he'd get over $3 million.
