could be. but at this point, the organization has invested so much time and money in him, it'd be stupid to give up on him now. he's also got a massive contract that might not be easy to move. but it's starting to look more and more like he just doesn't have the work ethic/drive to be great and he's content with being a streaky/OK goalie.

No question they are different players. Gallagher I see as a Marchand type while Kessel is top 5 in scoring over the last two years combined. I don't care about ELC or any of the other variables discussed. Simply suggesting this trade does not happen FOR ANY REASON brings me back awhile to the Canuck posters saying they wouldn't trade Hodgson for Tavares. It is almost on the same level of ridiculousness.

i said the comparison was silly and Kessel is by far the better player. i was just mentioning that Gallagher is a different type of player. he has nowhere near the skill of Kessel so has to compensate in other ways. he plays more physical. he hits more, blocks more shots, stands in front of the goalie and takes a beating, irritates the opposition. doesn't make him more valuable, but those things add value to his overall game. and i know you all say intangibles don't count but you're a fanbase that worships Wendel Clark, a guy who averaged about 55 points/year, so you obviously value such aspects to a plyer's game, no?
