Love a lot of the guys the leafs have together right now. Hope you can keep a lot of those strong role players - Bozak, Kulemin, Franson, Gunnarsson intact.

Asking price for Scrivens?

Honestly I figured I'd get flamed if I went to $2.5M

There's a few in here who think he should be playing with Dion full time

BUt Leafs are hurting for "effective" D, and he took good strides his year. They need to keep him.

- Big_Lightnin

I think Nonis probably wished he went with a two year deal at his current salary when they signed him.

Nice snub of Mark Fraser. He was the Leafs most consistent dman all year.

It is all of us, we did the big all out thing for our 10th, this time it is as a family getaway.

There's a hotel - can't remember the name of it - that connects via above ground glass walkway to the downtown waterpark.

The waterpark is fine - not as good as Great Wolf Lodge, but much better location, and GWL is an absolute rip-off. IIRC, your daughter is about 5-6? The downtown waterpark is plenty for a kid that age. And mom and dad can take turns going on the big slides.

The hotel itself is a bit funny - it's like it used to have outdoor courtyards that they have enclosed (it may have been the original design). So if you step out your front door, there's this kinda quiet indoor courtyard, where families can just sit and chillax.

It's not the Ritz, but it's a good, cheap family weekend.

P.K. Subban's agent disagrees.

Seriously, why the eff are Leafs fans looking to hand Franson a cheque that is bigger than Subban's?

Has the world gone mad?

- Atomic Wedgie

6 yr player vs 3 yr player. This isn't a bridge contract, and he's got a bit of leverage.

And PK will make $3.75M next year...

nah if he signed a 2 yr he'd be UFA at that price next summer, so then if you want to keep him it really goes up (assuming he earns it...)

Didn't we have a lockout because GM's were spending stupidly? Well, I guess they never learn.
- riceroni

its a good deal. basically they took one look at what montreal did with subban and decided bridge contracts are going to bite teams in the A#@. If you feel this guy is a top pairing or even top 4 then 4 per is solid.

Yeah it is the Skyline Inn, I checked the website, it has the courtyard with family movie night. Looks like fun, thanks.

different roles. Fraser wasn't playing on the top PP. He's a journeyman 6/7 D and he knows it. He'll be happy as poop with a 2 year 1-way.

Or they could look at Hedman and Myers and decide 5M per is too much for an unproven dman.

No we had a lockout because players were being asshats and not realizing that if they just shut up and play that they would get paid gazzilions regardless....

His Leverage is if he holds out they don't have anybody as good as him to replace him.

I'm not saying he SHOULD get $3M per... I'm saying it's the max he will probably get, but won't be surprised if he gets it.

$3/milly per year for Franson?

He's a 3rd pairing guy.

- Atomic Wedgie

Haha he had 29 points in 45 game and is entering the prime of his career.

2nd pairing all year long. He really helped Franson become a better player. Gunnarsson didn't receive much PP time either.

3rd pairing. Fraser played the least minutes of any Dman on the team.
