Haven't watched him play in ages.
Is he really that bad now? - T.Fleury
Lazy and slow as (frank). Can still play the PP with his skill and shot, but (frank) he's slow.
And a douche murderer as you pointed out. |

either a playing chip
or a trade chip for a more veteran presence or part of a package trade for upgrade (if we are in contention for the cup) - jribout
Really ?
Your team just made the playoffs for the first time in a decade... and now you have a team that's contending ?

Seeing him on the third line would be interesting. Would be good for him to learn a responsible defensive game and gives the team so leeway with size at center, and offensive potential. Pair him with McClement and Kulemin and that would be a damn good line.
4th Line of D'Amigo/Ashton - Boyd - McLaren/Orr
Good solid energy line with a couple of good PKers and a good fighter.
If we were to sign anyone as a Power Forward, I could see Ryan Clowe. Cheaper than Horton or Clarkson. He fights, he scores, checks, agitates. Replaces everything Komarov, Orr/McLaren and others do in one player.
Liles could be traded for a rather modest fee. 3rd? 4th?
Buyouts... Vinny would be the frontrunner I'd go for. Then by virtue
Grabo will stick around for another year. So will Kadri. I could see a 1A and 1B line.
Lupul - Kadri - Kessel
JVR - Grabovski - Clowe
McClement/Frattin - Colbourne - Kulemin/D'Amigo
Frattin/Ashton - Boyd - McLaren/Orr/D'Amigo
Phaneuf - UFA? Trade? Draftee?
Gardiner - Franson
Liles/Gunnerson - Fraser/O'Byrne/UFA/Ranger
I feel Paul Ranger could make a comeback, and in Toronto because he wants to stay close to home. In Tampa he was a damn effective player. Hell, he was on his way to a top pairing role. He might be ready to try again, starting out small on the third pairing. Could easily jump up the depth chart.
Reimer
UFA (Bulin Wall could work, Lababera, Nabokov, or Khudobin)
If the Leafs could make a trade for Edmonton's 7th... Darnell Nurse is that number 2 we need, Ristolainen is also a choice. Monahan, Lindholm, or Horvat could be a number 1 center with various skill sets. Nichushkin could be that first line power forward.
Wennberg or Hagg would be great prospects. Hell, Wennberg is likely one of the steals of this draft coming up.
God I hope we can have 2 1st rounders this draft
- Viktory
The only way the Leafs wind up with a first rounder in the top 7 is if the trade involved Kessel. He;s the only Leaf with any true serious value to fetch a high pick. But Kessel aint going anywhere. So that puts to rest that notion of the Leafs getting into the top 7. |

Not sure why everyone wants to pencil this guy into a 3rd line checking role. Has he shown the ability to be a shutdown/energy type player? <-- yes, that was rhetorical. - The Law
ya I just left that alone.

I would like to see him with D'amigo/Ashton and Frattin on a fourth line that gets 8-10 minutes a game to start and earns more if hey are effective.....
3rd line is Mclement Kulemin and hopefully Boyd Gordon |

I'd settle with one of Columbus' 1st rounders for Scrivins and something else.

Leafs are fine...couple years with some bad luck and worse coaching or they would have made the playoffs easily. |

Yeah... starting to withdraw my interest now looking back at his career.
Guy is a peice of poop.
After the accident.... he's awarded with getting off, being forgiven by Snyder's family, and a trade to a contender to change his scenery because of said ordeal.
Then since he doesn't get his way in OTT he wants to get traded, gets traded, then refuses.
In short... he's (frank)ing scum.
Oh.... and he's lucky to also be playing again because of the injury he got from said accident.

Maybe on the 4th line ...if they can improve centre ice elsewhere. I just can't imagine Carlyle/Nonis being happy to lineup Kadri-Grabo-Mcle-Colb down the middle. Colborne made Kadri look like a faceoff wizard. |

when I am being realistic (used the word IF) then yeah I do not appreciate TROLLS....
I said give Colbourne chance to play. that means more than a game or two. I also said 8-10 minutes to start so maybe he moves up to 2nd line in a couple of years.... |

So far we are the only team to give Boston a challenge. That seriously says something with the mind-set we had going into the series. I think the Leafs are underestimated by a lot of outsiders.. |

Agreed but checking line hopefully with Boyd Gordon gets a lot of playing time with Carlyle..... so anyone putting Mclement/Gordon on the "4th line" wasn't paying much attention to Carlyle's coaching style this year....
If we ca sign a better centre for top 2 lines that can take faceoffs then bye bye grabo... as far as I am concerned Grabo plays top 2 or is out..... |
