Scuderi and Ferrence will sign with the Oilers to play for Eakins and Ranger will do that too and other guys will too.

Kings have a bit more leverage to get him to take a bridge deal. Very good team they will likely keep together. Would be smart to take a bit less on a 3 year deal and see if he can win another cup with them. Then hit the lottery as a UFA.

I wish that Toronto could create this type of culture.

In my opinion, a guy like Bozak would be a lot better off signing a smaller deal and being a valued member of a resurgent Leafs team than signing a stupid deal in Florida or something and never living up to it.

If he signs the big money now, he might find himself looking at early retirement when he gets a bad reputation (see: Komisarek, Mike).

If he signs for 3.5 or so and continues to help this team move forward, he could have a long, decent career in this league.

I hope he's not arrogant enough to think he's going to get to ride shotgun with a player like Kessel wherever he goes.

I honestly don't think the money is out there. Somebody will overpay him, but $4M is overpayment. I can't see somebody throwing 3-4 yrs at $5M per at him.

So for an extra $500k a year? ya he should sign with Leafs. And $3.5M is a very manageable number for him.

EDIT: oh and I guarantee you Komisarek sign with another team this summer. Absolutely.

Actually, I'd take Kubina or Beauchemin back on the Leafs. I think either would be good with Phaneuf.

Nevermind, Kubina's done.

- Feeling Glucky?

Yeah, I have a feeling Beauchemin was a casualty of Ron Wilson's non-existent defensive style.

He was a fine #2 who was forced to play massive #1 minutes. Phaneuf is a #1 who has no partner.

I agree with this in general.

I'm looking at the cap geek numbers and I just don't know where all these UFAs are going to find their massive pay days.

If 20-30 players get bought out this off-season, there will be a flood of free agents combined with a shrinking cap. Grabovski got 5.5 because there was a dearth of FA centers, and the cap was $70 million.

Some players might get picked up a lot cheaper than we think.

ya it never made sense that didn't work. Though, Beauch wasn't bad here, he just got burned a lot cause he was over-relied on.

But no way they trade him now. And he'd have to be a bit goofy to sign here again

Beauchemin should be able to play well under Carlyle. He helped bring in Gardiner/Lupul and did well this year.

Elliotte Friedman ‏@FriedgeHNIC 3h

In his media availability, Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli said Raycroft trade was going to be for either Rask or Jiri Tlusty.

Sux.

- mmold

Really should have been neither.... Raycoft had hardly no value at the time, and if you believe Simmons Bruins were going to release him if they could trade him.

Trade for Raycroft all you want, but don't ridiculously overpay .

I'm skeptical about how many there will be actually. I really don't know. Might only be like 6-7, might be 50.

gonna be interesting to see.

Neither really has the room for him though. SJ maybe cause they've got a couple expiring, but Anaheim's got a lot of money on their D (for them...) already

Sharks are overflowing with D. They need to spend their money at forward.

With Eakins now the Edm coach, u know he's going to be praising alot of the young Leafs. So it could fuel the pot for a trade between them & the Leafs. Especially since Scrivens wants a bigger role which he won't get in TO. He also fits the criteria of what new GM McTavish is looking for. I can see a small or perhaps bigger trade this summer between the 2 teams. The Oilers have no interest signing UFA goalie Bulin Wall. So if the Leafs can convince him to be a backup to Reimer, likely Scrivens will be traded, probably to Edm.

true just saying they have a couple they could move easily if they wanted to, but I don't see them going after Scuderi.

Pens should.

Tough one.... I think Kulemin has some pretty good value for the leafs at a good rate.... but the drat is deep... not sure we could replace kulemin yet our prospects are too young
- jribout

Anybody that wants to trade Kuleman who possibly could be the best defensive forward in the league...the guy has legs like the hulk...some times his brain is like that of a 5 yr old..but man the guy back checks like a beast and can barely be knocked off the puck..and some leaf fans are trading him every other day...what the (frank)!!!!
