He's getting close though, if he could bring that intensity to the full year instead of just playoffs and tournaments.

Imagine how the Kings feel right now knowing that they're going to have to match that for the only player to show up in the playoffs. Voynov is such a good player for such a small stature.

Agreed. He wasn't ready yet for the Marlies at that time.... in and out of the lineup, spot duty. Getting sent down to Kitchener was a good move. I think it got his confidence back.

Was Blacker hurt at the end of the year... He didn't play in the playoffs for he Marlies

Ashton is probably at the point where he needs to become a pest. The ship is sailing on the idea of him becoming a top six forward.

I'd be fine with him simply using his large frame to throw a ton of hits, get in the odd scrap, and double down on the defense. Become a good PKer and checker.

Kings have a bit more leverage to get him to take a bridge deal. Very good team they will likely keep together. Would be smart to take a bit less on a 3 year deal and see if he can win another cup with them. Then hit the lottery as a UFA.

ya he's been playing more of a 3rd line banger role who can chip in offensively. Has grown into his size and uses it well.

Also a guy you can stick in front of the net on the PP who has the size to stay there and the hands to bang in rebound and make tips.
