Buff's weight will become a problem moving into his 30's. He is a rare specimen and he can easily outmuscle 99% of the pencil necks in the NHL. 300lbs is really hard to believe by just looking at him. He must have a lot of muscle mass because he doesnt look like a typical 300 lb man. I can believe 270-280 but 300 lbs. is a stretch.

He's one heck of a hockey player. There aren't many, if any, teams that wouldn't love to have him in the lineup. He's a big man but he doesn't look over weight and his size doesn't appear to have a negative impact on his game.

Buff is not a good fit for the Flyers. That's why no one here wants to give up more for him. We already have big, physical D men in LSchenn, Coburn, Grossmann, and a sometimes healthy Meszaros. We need dynamic puckmovers and all around speedier D men. Buff is a lot of good things but that he is not.
- hereticpride

He's speedier than most D-men half his size.

Sweet baby Jebus.

Send him back to Chicago. We'd gladly take him off your hands.

Who would you be willing to trade (from your current D) to get Byfuglien back?

Talent is great, talent plus a good work ethic is even better. He can only go so far on talent alone. At this rate he can play on the o-line of the Blue Bombers football club next year

How is it possible for a player to gain 30lbs (he reportedly weighed in at 270lbs at training camp) while playing big minutes at the NHL level in a condensed season? It's not. Somebody's numbers aren't right here.

Or that 270 number was never right. Fact is the guy is large and in charge but it makes him not a controversy and that's where I have issue.

Not a controversy in my books. If he got bigger and his level of play dropped off, sure, but that hasn't happened.

Don't exaggerate. He didn't eat all of Burmistrov; Wellwood would never let that happen.

Look at Melissa Mcarthy she has quietly made more money than any other woman over the past 18 months but she plays a goofy stupid dumb divorcee never the heroin. Yet people like her. Oh and she has a hit show on TV.

All that and yet, she was called by the gay Judge on Runway Model (I forgot his name and gay is just a description no smear) a whale and when the two stars are seen kissing he says it's absolutely disgusting - he shouldn't be surprised then when someone slurs his lifestyle. That's my point on this day in history we have come a long way in tolerance and understanding but when it comes to being an Endomorph the hate and ignorance is endless.

BTW Im 6"1 215 lbs I'm thick and I catch everyone off guard as I wear XXL shirts 38 waist and 31 length they always try to sell me a medium. I have had football teammates that would be considered overweight but I as a defensive back would not have wanted it any other way.

Peace

I'm assuming you're asking about a top 4 D-man, in which case I would say Seabrook, who is playing on fumes right now. His goal in game 7 overtime against Detroit was epic, but he's looked like a beer leaguer all year long.
