I'm going to assume that your remark about the sick jerks who signed Shea Weber to his contract is actually about the sick jerks in Philly who signed him to that offer sheet. Right, Richard?

1. Ranger Danger - He does have a Issue, that is fixed now, that caused him to leave the NHL for 3 years. It's a risk to sign him because of the nature of it, but even as a 3rd pairing, it would be a good one, especially when you think our likely 3rd pair right now is Klefblom and the new Russian.

- shvmr

He's stated that he preferred to play for the Marlies to be close to Whitby. He isn't gonna quit the NHL altogether for 3 years, to be close to family/significant other, then up and move to Edmonton. I think the chance of him going to Edmonton is pretty minimal. As in, zero chance. I'd actually love to see him get a shot at the Leafs, but I actually doubt even that happens. I suspect he refuses to leave the Marlies, in fact.

I agree that anyone can be moved. Would people here move one of the top guys Re: Eberle or Yakupov if it could get you Mike Green and Alzner from Washington? I would make that trade in a heartbeat and the Oil would be in the playoffs next year.

don't think the kings care for dubnyk. too pricey for a back up when cap is coming down and they rather spend it elsewhere to keep the core in tact.

your sarcasm is so full of rational and thought provoking points as to why Eakins is surely the wrong choice that I think most of us have come around to your way of thinking.
thank you for that.

I find it funny that you can be so adamant about such a highly sought after coach being the wrong choice, all the while espousing how badly we needed one of the veteran coaches that just got fired and didn't get it done in his previous job. with much better teams I might add.

give the guy a chance before we decide on what was right or wrong. do I need to name the number of successful first time hires?

btw-how did veteran coach pat Quinn do during his time here? what about tom renney?

- hugefemale dog77

I didn't agree with Quinn, but after renney and kruger who had little to no nhl experience why hire another coach in the same boat, wasn't kruger suppose 2b good with kids 2? Av Stanley cup finals game 7 ruff Stanley cup game 7 torts cup with tampa bay or a guy with promises named Eakins? so if the oilers don't make the playoffs this year, then hire a coach with experience?

Haha I love that you think Bozak is not going to sign with the Leafs but will sign with the Oilers to be on the 3rd line.

You could not be more out to lunch if you think he's signing anywhere for less than 4.5

^^ This, no way he signs with the Oil to play third line minutes.

On a serious note- Would Gardiner be available for a fair price? If not then I have heard people throw out Boumeester's name- now do you think Bou would come back to Edmonton?? We all know STL is prime for either trades or offer sheets... they cant keep and pay all those elite dmen...

Anyone is available for a fair price. And while I’ve seen some (and not even Leaf fans), say that a fair price for Gardiner would be RNH, I don’t think that’s reasonable. Who is? I don’t know. Don’t even try to say Gagner, because no, he doesn’t get it done. Not even with other pieces. To be honest, I have a tough time seeing a deal work, as the guys that the Leafs would want, I suspect the Oilers consider guys they wouldn’t trade. The only piece I can see the Oilers willing to deal, and the Leafs interested in enough to trade Gardiner, would be this year’s first. I can see the Oilers wanting to deal it, especially for a good young dman (finally get your team into a winning mode), and the Leafs interested in adding that. But, I don’t even know if that would work.

on the same though, i hope mac-t does not give $4.5m to 3rd line c-man duties. getting horcoff would be a thumbs up, but stuffing it with another massive contract would be stupid.
