Jank was a high risk high reward pick, and isn't developing very well so far, hence the reason I leave him out - Emcee27
Looks like high risk no reward to the rest of the hockey world |

I respect what you are saying, but you literally don't know $hit if you think it's feasters fault. - Emcee27
We're all entitled to having an opinion and its sad that u think anyone who has a different opinion then u doesnt know poop. I think I know that Feaster almost gave away a few picks for nothing when trying to offer sheet O'Rielly, i know he wasted a pick on Janikowski, I know he waited too long too move Iginla and Kipper, I know he got fk all in return for Regehr, I know he blew a poop load of wasted money on Hudler and Wideman. I can go on if you like? |

Eberle would be one of the last guys I would move. Seems to have the intangibles. Or maybe I'm just bias cause all those clutch goals he scored for team Canada.
What's the projected line up for the Oilers for next season as of right now? - hankthetank
oh he's my favourite player.
started same as you after the ridiculous clutchness in the jrs. easy to forget what he did the second year against the states too cause we ended up losing in ot. but that one was probably even more amazing.
and grew after watching some of the insane goals he can score all on my fav team. not too many with hands like him imo.
but as u said, we need some improvements. hall's the best of the lot. nuge is our hopeful star #1 center, and those don't grow on trees. Schultz might be the only guy with actual top pairing potential we have. and yaks prob can score as well as ebs, but is much more physical.
the fact that he had a down year abit didn't help either. i'd be loathe to move him, but was just throwing out my opinion on 'what if'.

This. At least the Flames got something for Iginla. Should've started 2 years ago though.

Honestly can't see the oilers getting a top Dman or goalie this offseason. Price will be too high because of the weak UFA class.
In my opinion, for the Oilers to take the next step they need to go hard after good bottom 6 players. The Islanders had a bad bottom role players throughout the rebuild, but now their bottom 6 next year will be one of the best in the league. Their bottom 6 was the driving force for the playoff run (besides JT of course)

Oilers and Isles are going to be a very similar team in terms of style and players in a few years |

Any trade for a true star on any other team will begin with the GM inquiring about one of your "big 5" and will end with Mac T offering Gagner. I dont see the Oil acquiring anyone significant without moving an "untouchable" asset. - coolehmon41
i don't agree at all.
as i mentioned in an earlier post, star for star is far from the norm these days.
its generally a number of reasonable to good role guys, along with some solid prospects/picks.
nash, gaborik, thornton, pronger twice, kovalchuk etc etc
off the top of my head, the only true star for star deal i can think of is hossa for heatley. |

Is this the Oilers top 6?
Edit: Damn it, not enough room to make them appear as a line. - hankthetank
No I don't think they'll do it like that. They're pretty concious about adding some size and grit to the top 6
If I had to project at the moment (where XXXX=No idea, and baring in mind Nuge will be out to begin the year)
Hall-Gagner-Eberle
XXXX-XXXX-Yakupov
Paajarvi-XXXX-Jones
Petrell-Smitshon-Brown
Unlikely that all three of Jones, Petrell and Smithson get re-signed, but we'll pencil them in until further notice.

much cooler than mine...
__, nuge, ebs
hall, gagner, yakupov
i think that blank will most likely be a bigger, rugged guy that can create some space and go to the net for nuge and ebs.
prv's the wildcard whether he's top 6 or 3rd line. most likely 3rd for the better part of the season. showed some flashes of finally figuring out his niche last year, but still has aways to go. think he'll probably float |

Gaborik? I think the Rangers got a good return for him. Brassard is breaking out, Moore will only get better and any team could use a Dorsett. The Nash deal isnt horrible, i just think people expected the BJ's to get more in return but it did make them a better team. Pronger was traded for Shanahan once upon a time and I do agree with the rest. I guess you're hoping a team gives away their star for a bunch of prospects who never pan out. Every fan of every team is hoping for the same, it doesnt happen that often. |

To play devils advocate, the Oilers offer draft picks from rounds 1-7 from the 2014 draft until the 2019 draft, for Mark Fraser. No deal?
I agree to a certain extent that GMs will open with asking for the kids. But an inability to listen to other offers actually suggests stupidity on the part of 29 NHL GMs. |
