There are far worse gms then darcy - hubie
True.
And there are also much better GMs, as well.
And those better GMs are the ones that keep winning the Cup.
I don't know, I guess 16 years is enough sample size for me, just saying! |

It takes a great deal of tact, finesse (and luck) to put together a team like Boston - definitely not something that Darcy could ever do. - sambarugh
thats a silly thing to say. of course he can, the blueprint is right there in front of him. |

I think this is also a very legitimate point and kind of the other side of the coin.

The Bruins roster is a complex one although they do have a superstar, he's just not a forward. I mean one could ask the question, do Boston win their cup and maybe another without Chara? Maybe they do but maybe they don't.
Either way Boston is a super interesting team to break down - especially come play off time. - sambarugh
more physical the team the better the team does. LA DET CHI. Pit has some bangers |

if you put stamkos into our current line up it improves it to about 4-6 seed which im not wanting to do I want the cup. - hubie
How do you figure? He was in a Tampa lineup that included St Louis, Vinny, and quite a few others that are better than anyone in the Sabre lineup, and they finished worse |

This.
However, I am not sure if Darcy is the GM that could put a Cup contender on the ice in Buffalo!
He has tried 2 time already, and has failed 2 times!
I really don't have much faith in him to try to rebuild for the third time.
We NEED a new GM! - Sabresfan88
we, as fans, will only be able to BS for so long. Darcy is here to stay. Let's take that in stride.
Though he has made several 'huh' decisions here as the GM, there are as hubie said, much worse GM's than who we have running the show. MacT and the other GM's that are making headlines these days are not making the newspapers for their excellence, rather their stupidity. We will all see come June 30th and beyond what Darcy can do with the pieces to trade and the picks we already have. |

WSH will not get rid of ovechkin and backstrom. let that sink in. ok now lets move onto reasonable trade targets - Beezer33

Darcy has drafted in the top 10 once so relaly its something we rarely see
guys like Snow and many other teams have flubbed top 10 picks for years.
But in the end I feel the same way with lindy darcy vanek roy pommer stafford....... thank you for the time we didnt win with you move on best of luck in the future. |

I am not gonna hold my breath!
You can hold yours if you want to.
As long as Darcy is the GM in Buffalo, we will NEVER win the cup. |

You know what??
There might not be a bigger Sabres fan than me, however, I have totally lost faith in this guy!
I don't know, I hope he proves us all wrong.
I just don't see it, I can't see us winning a cup with Darcy as the GM.

OK.
I hope you are right.
Look, I live for the day that we win a Cup.
I also know that he has failed rebuilding this team 2 times already!!!! |

We already have seen everything that Ennis is capable of doing in the NHL...
Hodgson.. we really don't know..
34 pts for Hodge and 31 for Ennis...
Hodge was -4
Ennis was -14
Hodge had a shorty and a GWG.. Hodge also had 3 PP goals to Ennis's 2.
Hodge also won 46.8% of faceoffs while Ennis only won 41.9% - JVince11
They are both 23 years old and Ennis only has 48 games in the NHL over Hodgson. We've seen everything out of Ennis but not out of Hodgson? That makes no sense.
Ennis matched what Hodgson did with Vanek and Pomminville playing with Stafford and Foligno... Why did you compare just the PP goals and not the total PP production? Why didnt you mention that Hodgson went 30 games before registering a point on the PP this season? Why didnt you mention that even though Hodgson has 3 inches on Ennis, he still didnt register more hits?
+/- may look far apart, but Hodgson was the worst forward defensively on the team this year. 1.156 GA/20 min of ice time. |

I also remember going to a cup game and a couple conf games which many many teams out there have yet to do in the league in a long time.
I still dont get that most people realsie that we havent been bad for a long long time. We have been average which as much as I beleive is worse cause liek the bills drafting 10-14 every single year will get you a good player but sure as hell most likely not getting you a game changer.
What the biggeste differance this time then any others you may ask? They doubled the scouting dept so when they go out and get guys in the later rounds plus hitting on better guys in say rds 2-3 |

I am not saying their goaltending wasn't bad, but it wasn't that far off from the Sabres goaltending. And team defense wise, they aren't much worse where putting stamkos on the Sabres would launch them up the standings. |

My overall question would be can you be a cup winning team with both of them as centers, or one of them as a center and Ennis as a winger?
Not sure you can with the way they game is being played and officiated now. |

Hodgson? Absolutely not. Terrible skating, and hes poor defensively.
Ennis? Probably not as a center, no. I think hes a capable center if he played with better wingers. He shouldve been playing with Vanek and Pominville over Hodgson. But we couldnt do that because Hodgson couldnt play with anyone else. Ennis could definitely be a winger on a cup team. |

No problem
Actually, even when I used to live in Buffalo, I never could afford to be a season ticket holder.
Now that I can afford it, I don't live in Buffalo anymore.
But, I catch a game or two in Buffalo, and see them in Prudential Center, and Nassau in Long Island. |

Miller's GAA was higher than normal years for him, but his Save % was right around where he always is. So I wouldn't say it was that much of a different year for him than most years. |
