Why not? - Nucker101
Better options will be available. I see him ending up going late first, early second. |

Do you think Morrisey will be picked before us? Because he's exactly what we need. Either him or Lazar. - Boinker
I think he will probably go before 24. He's been climbing the charts since that amazing U18 tournament.

I think someone will grab him around the 20 could fall a few though. He is what van needs really from what I've seen and what others have said. Reminds me a bit of Ryan Callahan and a bigger version of brad Marchand I'm sorry to say. Without the douche bag weasel attribute like brad. |

Was talking more about Morrissey, but ya Lazar is a player I could see the Canucks try hard to get, also a BC native. A lot of talent coming out of BC, Reinhart looking really good for next year |

Might be. Gauthier is known for his defensive game right now, Colborne during his draft was known for his offense and was a project pick from the AJHL banking on his size and vision taking the next step. Gauthier might end up like Brian Boyle or a less physical Martin Hanzal truth be told, both strong defensively that show some higher signs of offense, picked and pegged to go in the same area. |

My idea draft for Van this year.
1. Ryan Hartman
3. Philippe Desrosiers
4. Spenser Jensen
5 Jeremy Gregoire
6. Saku Maenalanen
7. Jake Montgomery
And if we could get a second round pick. Shea Theodore or Dillon Heatherington. |

What's the knock on Slepyshev? He has to be worth a late rounder to someone who can convince him to play if North America. Some scouts had him as a 2nd round pick last year. |

He told teams last year very specifically he would not leave the KHL until he was 22 due to obligations with his family. That's why a guy most thought would be late first or early second went undrafted, and might again. |

Hmm, I would think a GM would appreciate having a potential top 9 forward on the back-burner for 3-4 years and divert that attention to more pressing needs. If he stays in Russia for his career then fine, you took the chance. |

Thing is if not signed after 2 years he becomes a FA and re-enters the draft and is no longer part of the teams property, which is why he might get drafted next year as a 20 year old banking that he will be true to his word. I talked a lot about him last year because he's one of my favourite prospects out of the MHL/KHL recently. |

Not like he's tearing it up... 9points in the K... 1 point in the U20s... |

So you can't sign him to an NHL contract to keep his rights but allow him to play in the KHL? |

He's a two-way player with amazing hands and got injured in the K after 7 games where he had 3 goals to start. Played bad for a bit and got traded then looked solid again. Remember, he was the guy making sure Grigorenko and Kucherov didn't get scored on 24/7 in the U20's and he was the primary penalty killer. He might never be more than a third liner, but those are important too. |

Honestly. If were drafting another right winger with our first, he better be an absolute stud. Is Hartman a stud? Meh. |

He's a heart and soul character player. 4 RW positions on every team. Is anyone else we get at 24 going to be a stud. Meh. |

I'll pass on the blistering Russian puckhog that's lost without the puck. |

Think Morgan Klimchuk will be available at 24? I don't hear much about this player but everything that I do it is always positive and he sounds like a really solid player.
How would you describe klimchuk and what pick range do you see him going?

Wow, that was me at 20.
I like Lazar and I hope they take him. Canucks need more guys with intangibles. I like Gaunce from last year too. I think the Oilers were hot after Gaunce last year and when he was snatched they took his teammate Zharkov. |

The Canucks already have Dan Hamhuis who has perfect vision. |
