I wouldn't count out the Oliers but he will probably be here. Spector posted that the Flyers would move a contract to add a D man. - SABRES 89
I would love to get Couturier from them but I doubt they'd give him up. |

Money has nothing to do with it.
Most he can make on his EL deal is 3.775 mil per. 950k is a base, the rest is performance based. - dadeadhead
What I meant was that for a 26th overall... wsh might only give him an incentive deal up to maybe 2.00m but Pegula would go all the way to 3.775m like a top 5 pick |

Another center? Is he any better than whag coho or grigo is projected to be?
I think we need scoring wingers... Matt Read would be nice but I know ppl think he already showed his ceiling whereas courterier has not. |

i would be ok with hartman he has that gritty play like a ryan callahan.
but tbh i'm hoping for Lazar that's the type of center we need playoffs etc - gerbe75pts
Larsson is that kinda guy too
I'm really liking Lindholm a lot also |

I'm assuming he was referring to Brayden Schenn. I wouldn't mind him either, but I like Couturier a bit more. Schenn is kind of a dirty player and a hot head. Not always a good combination. He also already has a suspension on his record so that's not going to help his cause any. But both of them are good players. |

I don't care that he's a center. You can move a center to wing and still have them be productive. That's what Philly, LA, and Pitt have done with success. It's easier to move them to winger than it is to ask a winger to play center.

Yea he was but I'm not thrilled with either player. |

Couturier had a kinda rough year, but the whole Philly team did. I think he's the type of guy that comes up big in important situations. He has that "mojo" to his game. He's also still pretty much a baby, so some growing pains are to be expected. |

Simmonds is the guy I'd target from Philly
Supposedly, when he was in LA he was a guy the Sabres had interest in |

I agree with you but sometimes a natural scoring winger is needed imo |

Simmonds is the type of guy that's good because of the players around him. I don't think he'd have the same success here. I think Couturier is the type of player that makes those he plays with better. We need more of those. |

Didn't we just re-sign him and give him a bonus?
Hahaha,
Which Buffalo team is worse?
Damn, the Bills are just embarrassing |

I could see that.
I still like that kind of player that Simmonds is though...
ESP if we trade Vanek, I could see him fit nicely with Hodgson |

We still don't have the players to put around him that he would need though. He'd end up looking like Stafford. |

I bet they don't dump any. The only way they're dumping salary is via trade. They won't buy anyone out. - HonkFortheGoose
I could see them buying out Leino or Stafford if we are for some reason close to the cap, but that's a longshot. |

Regardless if his numbers were to go down, I would take Simmonds on my team all day. I like the way he plays the game and hes decently talented. |
