I will have to just disagree with the skating part he's the best skater in the draft and will be top 3 in the nhl imo

but nice break down

- gerbe75pts

I wasn't saying he was an average skater, just that it's nothing crazy like a Grabner or Gaborik. He's got the balance that guys like Crosby and Tavares have IMO. He's got pretty nice speed, but the balance is much more prominent IMO.

because we fired him.... we are still paying him for another season or two I believe... hence they need permission.
- JVince11

that makes little to no sense. If you terminate an employee, buyout a contract, however you want to phrase it, if that person is longer in your employ then there should be no need for permission. IF they are still involved with the organization and were "re-assigned", I understand but if you fire someone I see that as you have relieved them from their obligations and they are no longer obligated to you.

regarding the Vanek WSH talk, Wilson is another name to consider. Basically a more skilled version of Foligno.

Your contract is guaranteed for the length of the contract. It matters not if you quit or are fired.

meh, I guess I'm just not as big on Alzner as you are. I definitely see the framework of this deal being Wilson and a 1st and then you can add a third or fourth piece from there.

Edit: I just realized in my scenario there are three Thomas' being traded around I wonder when the last time that happened was?

Josi signs 7yr extension with preds AAV 4 mil..... what a steal for the Preds, why couldn't we have given Myers this contract?

You set the organization back 5 years on a trade like that. See the Lindros trade.
- dadeadhead

Possibly. Depends on how those draft picks wouldve turned out. I'm just saying I can see why someone would want to do it.

Myers should be the first contract they should dump.

I kind of wish they would at least create a new award that goes to the best defensive defenseman. They're the ones out there blocking shots, getting hit into the boards in the corners and clearing the front of the net, yet they get no recognition for it.

I bet they don't dump any. The only way they're dumping salary is via trade. They won't buy anyone out.

They should move Myers he won't live up to that contract, to much of an overpayment.

Do you really think there would be any takers for it though? He's progressively gotten worse, is coming off of a broken leg, during a season he admitted he wasn't diligent in his conditioning for.

He'll be on the opening day roster but the expectations they'll have for him are huge. I just hope he learned his lesson with the conditioning and that it was the main issue. Hopefully if he comes into camp game ready we'll see an improvement over what we saw this past year.

Somebody would take him, he wouldn't be hard to move. Oilers, Flyers, Flames, just to name a few. 5.5 is way to much for him however I know he will be there and they won't move him.

The Flyers can't afford to take him unless they're sending a decently sized contract back our way. They have major cap issues right now. The Oilers seem to be in denial that they need help on defense and Feaster is too stupid to pull something like that off.

I wouldn't count out the Oliers but he will probably be here. Spector posted that the Flyers would move a contract to add a D man.
