Can we make a trade for Gardiner? Paajarvi for Gardiner straight up? Maybe Anaheim's second to sweeten the deal?
Gardiner was J. Schultz's partner in Wisconsin... Not too far fetched
WOOT! First post on Hockeybuzz! Please accept me - TomKlassen

A lot of feedback already, I like that
I know people tend to overvalue their hometown boys, but in all seriousness does Gardiner really have that much more value than Paajarvi? - TomKlassen
I'd say so. Gardiner putting up 30 point seasons as a Dman trumps Paajarvi doing so as a forward, never mind the fact that we're desperate for D and to reunite him with Schultz. |

Fair enough, I would be willing to give up the #7 pick for Gardiner's services along with Paajarvi. It seems unlikely that we'll get a real impact player for that pick alone.
It's also quite difficult to decipher two very young players' values when you factor in draft pedrigee. Who would have taken Claude Giroux over Erik Johnson on draft day 2006? |

What??? Its a tad premature to forecast where the draft will finish- further where those picks will be... this is an especially deep draft- some say Nurse in 3-4 years will surpass Jones... which is only potential but remember Gardiner was in and out of the minors most of this last season too... |

Would Franson be enough to move up from 21 to 7? Too much? realistically. |

Looks like Seguin will get another Stanley Cup ring.... The Kessel trade is the gift that keeps on giving. - Reveen
Hahaha weak. The Bruins are winning in spite of Seguin's Houdini act. C'mon dude, I'm sure you can do better. I'm willing to bet Kessel torches the Bruins all of next season, assuming he's still on the Leafs. |

you could easily see Klefbom's name added to the AHL roster for a season. Rushing defenseman is usually a bad idea.
I think this is the first time you've said anything like this! |

Also, this Gardiner trade talk is silly. Why on earth would the Leafs trade him |

lol get a life you (frank)ing troll, I swear Toronto makes the playoffs once in a shortened year now all of a sudden their fans can run their mouths like they're no longer the joke of the NHL. Gardner for Yakupov, give me a (frank)ing break. - SpoiledByOil
... and I really suggested Gardner [sic] for Yakupov.
No, really, I did.
REALLY!

I don't think so. You could still be looking at an all-star one day at #7 this year.
Franson was good, and it is close, I am just not convinced he is that good.

yup, but there are a few things to consider. Sophomore slump, serious concussion to start the season, the Leafs deciding he needed to work on his D with Eakins in the minors.
At the end of 2011-2012, he was the Leafs best offensive D and not too much of a liability in his own end. At the end of the playoffs this year he was probably the Leafs best Dman.
Nurse is a real interesting prospect. |

I would seriously consider that were I the Leafs' GM.
I am not sure EDM should though. I don't know if Gardiner is what the team needs. |

it's more common than not that young Dmen get bounced around/scratched often. just look at guys like dougie hamilton, del zotto, adam larsson, etc. |

Betting he wants 4 million. Trade a mid-round pick for Ballard and you just as well off. - IanEsplen
Why would we trade a mid round pick for a guy who is going to get bought out and we could get him for free. Also Ballard sucks and we don't want your garbage. |
