Doug Murray would be a nice pick up for the 5/6 spot. - Oilfan19
Betting he wants 4 million. Trade a mid-round pick for Ballard and you just as well off. |

I get what you're saying.
Honestly, I think you will see the Oilers make at least one stupid money offer that has everyone saying WTF?
Kind of like what Gillis did when he offered Sundin 10 million per.
That kind of move shows everyone you're here to play and you will do what you need to do to win. And that will lead to getting some guys to sign in Edmonton for decent contracts in the future. - IanEsplen
Oh I guarantee it will happen. As long as it isnt Horcoff like we can deal with it.
Is that what Sundin got for his half season? |

What's Murray at now? I dont think he would go that high.. But who knows? |

Would not surprise me.
Serious question- How do the Oilers plan to lure UFAs to Edmonton without overpaying? Why would Bickell or Clowe etc... not sign somewhere else like Florida, Tampa, NY, Detroit etc...
Would you go to Edmonton if Miami was offering close to the same money? - IanEsplen
A player looks at the talent and projection of the team and says 'I wouldn't mind playing there'
See... Schultz, Justin

Yeah but a guy like Bickell after having so much success might just want his payday. |

No, I think he got about 5.5 for half a year.
How would Oilers fans feel about 1 yr, 8 million or 2 yr, 15 million for Jagr?
That is the kind of splash that I could see happening. |

I don't see Jagr coming here if Hemsky is gone. And to be honest, I wouldnt take a chance on Jagr at this point anyways. |

.....patiently waiting for cloutier to pop up and ask a question
....i think i saw him grabbing a hand full of timbits and a free coffee

So teemu hartikainen signed with the KHL, we keep his rights cause he's an RFA, this could potentially be good for him he can go and play bigger minutes with stiffer competition than the AHL. I like him as a player and hope he returns eventually. |

I don't know why all the Heatley Hate around these boards, but I would roll the dice on the Heater, the guys (frank)in AllStar. Maybe Raffi Torres and Matt Cooke could help with truculance, you know, set a good example for the kids. |

ok, so all these reporters had almost 2 full days to prepare questions, and these are the questions they are asking?
Does the fact the oil had 4 coaches in 5 yrs scare you away?
obviously not or he wouldn't be standing there? |

Of course, the best young players on every other team are worth very little compared to the guaranteed future hall-of-famer's on Edmonton. Nevermind that Edmonton's untouchable hall-of-famer list gets bigger every year because the previous year's untouchable hall-of-famers finished near the bottom of the league yet again.
Sadly, for the rest of us, I think the arrival of Eakins marks the long overdue end to your pathetic run of shots at franchise players. - Aetherial
Seguin,Hamilton We just keep the guys we get. I would take either of those guys over Kessel |
