Why's that? Wouldn't Vancouver be more likely to want to send back a salary like Ballard? - Morris
It's a possibility. But Canucks don't even have 1M in cap space. How much is Ballard's contract? |

Doubt they do that.
Not too many teams looking for a 5 million dollar guy who is very streaky, injury prone and the GM has already said he desn't want. |

I agree. Doubt it would happen. King would be a nice fit here tho. |

I think there was a market for Hemsky and even a small one for Horcoft.
But when your GM says they aren't wanted on the team and given that every team knows those are the two guy who will be bought out, that market got a whole lots weaker and smaller.

Do you really think Paul Maurice is going to work under a coach who has less experience than himself? |

I'd take it. - robin_steele264
He's the player we need in the bottom 6. Im more anxious to see what Mac T does to add size to the bottom 6. IMO this is what we need:
1 Top 6 FWD with size
4 Bottom 6 FWD that can eat some minutes
1 Top Pairing Dman
Capable back up goalie. |

He didn't say that at all.
He spoke honestly and said what anyone in the hockey world already presumed.

If I recall, he said something along the lines of I think it's time for these guys to move on.
That pretty much screams pack your bags, you're not wanted here anymore. |

Yeah. Best situation was to wish them well. But he would welcome them back and they need a deal that makes sense.
He didn't say, 'pack your bags I'm buying you out' like you insinuate.

Horton can cover the fwd in the top 6. And as far as the bottom 6 goes, I'm thinking Bickell. But I think he's going to be resigned. |

I had a convo a few blogs ago about bickell. He's gunna want alot of money after this post season and this might just be a fluke year for him. |

Exactly. So I say the Oilers try and capitalize on them the first opportunity they get. |

Dany Cleary or Ryane Clowe may be guys that would help the OIL on contracts less than 5 mil. And you gotta bring in Bryz if he is bought out, maybe Jagr UFA too?? |

Idk if your being sarcastic or not but I wouldnt take any of those guys. Cleary isnt leaving Det. Clowe too expensive to be playing bottom 6. Bryz just no. and Jagr no. |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's something that's in the back of everyone's mind. He's getting paid under 1M right now. So it's possible that he would accept a 2.9M contract over so many years? |
|
|
|
OK, What about UFA`s Theodore, Emery, Ryder, Zubrus, Penner |

Im thinking there will be 30 teams sending him offers and hes gunna take the big pay day. You just know hes gunna get a Leino like deal from some poor sap GM. Just hope its not us. I like Bickell at the right price tho. |
