U did not win that deal. Or even close.
Im hearing gardiners worth based on small samples and potential. And because of this, hes apparently worth more than a young, true 2nd line center that was on pace for 65 points.
But the same fans are saying they mighta won the kessel trade because they currently have the best player in the deal. Ignoring the massive upside and potential of the two they coulda had.
So u get it both ways depending on which one suits ur argument best?

so *massive* upside on a better team, is somehow > than a 25 year old who has been in the top 10 scoring the last 2 seasons.
Good luck with that argument. Do you seriously think even ONE GM in the entire league would take Seguin over Kessel?
(I am more addressing the guy who would not trade *either* Seguin or Hamilton for Kessel.)
What is the price for a top-10 scorer (playing without a #1 center mind you). It is probably 2 prospects with big upside. Can you even begin to deny that?
and,
I am hearing Edmonton fans calling Gardiner an AHL Dman
You do know that Gardiner, on a worse team, as a Dman, has more points in the playoffs this year after 1 round, than Seguin, who has played 3 rounds now.
... but yeah, Gardiner is AHL and Seguin is > Kessel.
