Better stay away from Computers, phone lines, Bhengazi, and the IRS too. Your own phone is the courtroom now... Comrade!

If there's one thing life has taught me it's that the legal system isn't something you screw with. You dress respectfully, you say "yes your honor" and "no your honor" and you get out of there as quickly as possible. Even if you're innocent the system will bite you in the butt coming and going. It's best just to stay away from it.

Edit: I still haven't seen what he did to violate his probation.

I agree.. I hate going to traffic court even. Feel like a damn felon. Was the pat on the butt the smartest thing? Nope. I just think the judge had a bit of a hard on bec of who he had before him.

If I pat my lawyer on the butt after he kept me out of jail... it goes relatively unnoticed IMO.

I have several family memebers in law enforcement so I can say this... Only thing worse then a Woman judge is a Woman cop. They are never leinient for fear of being seen as weak by thier peers.

Supposedly, he failed to show proof he enrolled into a court ordered program and forgot to meet with his probation officer on several occasions.

Well, that'll do it.

I was found not guilty for a traffic stop and with the lawyer and the side fines they added on being innocent cost me almost $3000. I'll never let that go.

They extended it until the 4th? Originally it was the 30th.
- mayorofangrytown

I swear that's what I read over the weekend but now, of course, can't find it. This is what I've found so far.

Starting the latter of June 15 or 48 hours after the final Stanley Cup Final game, and ending at 5 p.m. Eastern on June 30. However, because of the late start to this abbreviated season, the latest the final playoff game could be is June 28 -- and 48 hours from June 28 is June 30 (which is also the day of the NHL draft).

Thus, expect the NHL to clarify the buy-out period at some point in the coming weeks.

Something fishy here... Who hires a lawyer for a traffic stop? It had to be a criminal case such as DUI. Just saying. Regardless, IMO if you are found completely innocent, the state should ahve to cover legal fees.

I beat a traffic ticket because the officer didn't show for court. $77 court costs out of my pocket

Buyouts have to be done before Free-Agency happens. You can make trades now, so trading for Bernier, Schneider, or a pending UFA to presign might be possible before buying out Bryz.
- youarewrong

Ah, Then still 'no' to trading Coots/Schenn/Read for Schneider & Edler. That has "overpayment" written all over it.

The way to get Briere to waive that NTC is to say, we ARENT buying you out, but we will expect you to be a limited player, 3rd line, learn to check, no PP time. Then he might want out.

I found the cheapest lawyer I could because I knew I was innocent. Hell, by the time the cops released me they knew I was innocent and the arresting officer said he was sorry he brought me in. The lawyer charged me 2 grand flat if it was dismissed. I wasn't allowed to show up to court without one. The minor fines they tacked on to justify the stop and court costs associated with it were nearly $900.

The whole thing was ridiculous. It took them 4 hours to contact the DA to drop the case so I sat in court half a day with nothing to do.

In my teens and 20s I spent more than 12 hours in jail twice and didn't even go to court either time let alone have charges pressed.

Once they get you, you start paying in time or money. It's best to stay away from the police or courts anytime it's possible. If my headlight goes out I fix it the next day, I'm too old to interfere in fights anymore thankfully.

Players can be traded now as long as the trading partners are not playing. Either way I dont think anyone expects Danny boy to be back. Would be nice though if was traded, save a buyout spot.
