He's lucky it didn't get him a year. You can't act like that in court. Last thing a judge wants while they're trying to pass a sentence is the entire court laughing.

Grow up, don't head butt your wife and you won't have these issues.

A little Prediction: Flyers trade Coburn, 11th overall and 2nd to Carolina for 5th overall. Flyers Draft Barkov or Nichushkin. Trade Read plus 2nd next year for Bernier, and Couturier and Cousins for Yandle. Sign Weiss & Zubrus.
- youarewrong

Works for Homer.

That'll mean for the next two seasons he'll be able to take his traditional nap after his first selection.

If Homer pulls all those moves off I will be impressed.
- Jimmygrazz

Do you think any of those moves are outside the relm of possibility? I heard Carolina wants a top 4 d-man along with a high pick for the 5th overall. I heard LA would want Read for Bernier... I think it would take Read and a 2nd so I actually bumped it up a bit... and everyone has heard the Couturier for Yandle rumors. I think Cousins would be the "overpayment" the Flyers have to make to get him.

Then all it comes down to is signing Weiss and Zubrus... If not Zubrus then Antripov. If not Weiss then Hornton, and move Schenn back to Center.

With Weiss' injury history, and the fact the Flyers turn NHL Iron Men into pretzels, Weiss would fracture his wrist signing the contract.

Oh come on now. I say he at least gets his first check and then slits his wrist lacing up his skates during pre-season...

I wouldn't mind waiting until after next year and going after Letang if he hits free agency.
- NickTheKid87

Tried looking at this realistically to see if it could potentially work, and suprisingly enough, it could. We would have to buyout Briere and Bryzgalov, trade Read (So we wouldn't have to resign him), have Timmo retire, resign Giroux in the 7M range, try to get Coots in the 3M range, keep BS in the 3M range, sign Gagne in the 2M range, keep a cheapo like Hall on the 4th line, trade Mez, and sign a cheaper, mobile Dman off the UFA market (Clitsome's just an example, not a reccomendation). If we did all that, then we could have space to sign Letang for premium cash.

But we need a goalie.....
- Jimmygrazz

Then why don't we wait until the 'Nucks have to Buyout one of them rather than give up assets? Besides there are tons of goalies up for grabs if we wanted to buyout Bryz. Backstrom, Smith, Nabokov, Thomas, Vokoun. Or availible for trade besides Schnieder? Bernier, Hiller, Halak. And who to say any of them would be better than Bryz & Mason? Why lose all of our pending RFA's for a position that we could get a comparable player at like half the cost?

I think Homer holds onto Bryz and throws out a couple low offers to the guys we want at the price we might want (Backstrom) and if we don't get any takers hang tight with Bryz until goalies & GM's get desperate and then deal. In the end we do not need to get rid of bryz as much as Vancouver needs to drop an expensive goalie.

Not disagreeing about the seriousness of court, but when you have people like Lindsay Lohan showing up looking like a straight up crackhead.. a pat on the butt for 30 days? I dont know much about the actual case, but I remember hearing conflicting reports and how the chick is a straight up psycho... who has a history of headbutts herself. Didnt he say she headbutted him?

EDIT: You saying he is lucky he didnt get a year is another problem I have... our justice system is pretty pathetic.

Trades can be made now. Few days ago, Sergei Gonchar was traded to Dallas

Any time. As soon as you're out of the playoffs basically. Gonchar was already traded to Dallas. Most teams wait until the Cup Finals are over but there's nothing saying they can't.

Buyouts have to be done before Free-Agency happens. You can make trades now, so trading for Bernier, Schneider, or a pending UFA to presign might be possible before buying out Bryz.

If there's one thing life has taught me it's that the legal system isn't something you screw with. You dress respectfully, you say "yes your honor" and "no your honor" and you get out of there as quickly as possible. Even if you're innocent the system will bite you in the butt coming and going. It's best just to stay away from it.

Edit: I still haven't seen what he did to violate his probation.

Supposedly, he failed to show proof he enrolled into a court ordered program and forgot to meet with his probation officer on several occasions.
