Ranger didn't want to get back into the NHL, and wanted to stay close to TO, from what we've heard, anyways.

Don't see anything happening here.

If there is no compensation involved , why would Toronto let Edmonton hire Eakins when he still has a contract with the Leafs ?

was a clause in Eakins contract that he could get out for an NHL job in the off-season.

Or, rather, the clause was he couldn't leave during the season, had to wait till off-season.

Ranger didn't want to get back into the NHL, and wanted to stay close to TO, from what we've heard, anyways.

i liked eakins coaching, and his way of handling the media circus.

he did well with young guys, and i think thats why he is a good fit in edmonton.

i was hoping he was going to be our next coach.

not the end of the world, but i think he will do well in EDM.

i like eakins.. i really do.. and i hope he does well.

good young team he has there.. eakins is the right fit.. someone needs to teach them all how to be pros.

i am curious to see what happens with the rest of the coaching staff tho.
