from what my tech buddies have told me, jailbreaking doesnt allow the phone to work to its best performance (battery etc) and does nothing but get you free apps...doesnt help with respect to added memory, being able to download things onto your phone which are not Apple products etc

jailbroke my phone several times... if you wanted to update the IOS, which you do since there are improved features you have to do it all over again, re-install download, setup... just a pain in the ass... and then some poop doesnt work properly or is voided because you jailbroke it.

I dont have to do that now... if you are just an average user and dont like the tweak much, sure grab an iphone

Your tech buddies must not use iPhones.

Jailbreak lets you play with every single aspect of the phone, and I haven't noticed a decline in battery life.

I've only done minimal mods on my current iPhone, because I actually like the OS, but there are many, many tweaks and hacks you can use with it.

As for expandable memory, using the jailbreak "finder" app, and the camera connect kit apple sells, you can read and save to SD cards no problem.

This latest OS has pretty much all the features I jailbroke my iPhone for... that bing thing worries me though. Hopefully it's just an option to use bing as a search engine, and not the default.

I'm already stuck using bing on my piece of poop dell at work.

i just threw in a 64gb micro SD and have anything I wanted on my phone now. My stupid 16gb iphone was full with just pics and videos

Had the Bold 9900....great for typing, thats it. Internet was slow, apps were brutal and I had to return the damn thing five times because of keyboard malfunctions until I sold the 5th one. And I LOVED blackberries....But I can type quite well on the iphone now....and it does other stuff too!
