Oh you know Ian did that for hits, don't get your panties all in a knot.....we all know there is nothing to the "piss the Leafs off" statement...... - chompsey
It doesn't bother me at all. I think it's a pretty silly statement actually. I'm just saying, it doesn't even make sense. |

In the crazy man's defense, he didn't say "combined"......regardless, who gives a poop...... - chompsey
Technically then, Toronto has a higher population than the all of the provinces, short of Ontario, from BC to Nova Scotia. |

Start asking her what your assumption should be, works for me. |

such sour grapes ian... its hard to remember the canuks making the playoffs cause they were out so fast...
remember success is making it to the cup finals and having a chance at a cup,so in those so called last 10 years the oilers were so called rebuilding they have made it to the finals just as many times as the canuks have...
Dallas was interviewed twice by Vancouver meaning he was more than likely offered the job but said sorry have a better offer from Edmonton...
But hey if its true the canucks only interviewed dallas to get under torontos skin, well I doubt the leafs care that much about it since they almost knocked off the bruins while your canucks were nothing more than a practice session for the sharks. And again if this were true, and canucks fans better hope its not, it further speaks of whats wrong with the canucks mis-management team... |

Think Gillis is just waiting to see what Tippet's decision is? I'm not sure if that page has turned yet. |

Two interviews does not mean he was offered the job. In fact, it is been highly publicized that he left Vancouver with no job offer after the second interview.
Who considers losing in the Stanley Cup Final success??? |

Seriously? "Those so called last 10 years?" Were they not actually the last 10 years???
Job interviews do not equal job offer.
The Oilers have been rebuilding for 10 years and they still can't make the playoffs??? And then you complain that it's the "canucks mis-management team?"
My goodness. |

So making the Stanley Cup Finals, but losing, is success because you had a chance to play for the Stanley Cup? How about making the playoffs? Is that success? Cause you need to make the playoffs to have a chance at the Stanley Cup too!
This is just too funny! Made my day! |

let's say for argument's sake that Ian was right and it was Mike Gillis's way of pissing off T.O. and leading on Eakins/Nonis.
Just goes to show you why Gillis is the worst GM in the game. Another reason why he couldnt deal Loungo. AV got a raw deal it should be Gillis looking for work at the local whitespot. |

Sort of true -- Eakins makes more sense for a younger team with plenty of upside.
Canucks are in a win-now or washed up has-beens mode depending on your point of view. - Canada Cup
I don't think the Canucks window is closed, but they need a new dynamic in that room and some team toughness.
They remind me of the Leafs before this past season, except for the humongous talent difference of course.

So a GM that was fired 4 years ago as a coach is rehired , and hires a coach with no NHL experience to coach a team whose core has very little experience.
If you ask me Oilers will be a top 5 draft pick next year |
