Yes moving up to 12th would be solid and get the exact player you want. I think someone like Shinkaruk could be around at 12th which would be an absolute steal.

I would be behind this 100% gong from 16 to 12 would get a very good player where at 16 would get a good player. At 12 if you can get a player liek Shinkaruk would be a steal as I beleive he will be picker 8-10 so him there at 12 is nice. If hes gone you could have several options to go with wheter it be a d or forward. The value of swapping picks is pretty nice as we may only have to send over a 3rd/4th rounder to moce up those 4 slots.

I don't think this team has any offensive defenceman....the last guy was Soupy...Ehrhoff has a great shot but his transition game and carrying the puck is not so great.....The biggest problem with this team is we have no defenceman capable of carrying the puck and speeding up our transition zone play....back in 06-07 this team was great to watch in transition, very quick at moving the puck forward and getting into the offensive zone.....now they play with it for 20 seconds while the other team adjusts and ses up the trap....I hate watching our transition game and that starts with defence.

I don't get to watch a ton of games because I live in the midwest.. but the games I do get to watch.. I completely agree with this.. it is like crossing into the zone is kryptonite.. we just skate to the line and stop and pass... and the other thing I realize is that.. I think that Buffalo has to be one of the WORST pass receiving teams in the NHL.. go back and watch The Mighty Ducks or pass eggs on the ice or something.. we have more turnovers off of bad puck receptions than any other team I bet.

Why do you think that? Can you show me something where he actually said he wanted to go after the "top tier" guys in the top 5?

I think we need quantity more than quality IMO. IF we are going into a rebuild..

We need to realize that Miller, Vanek, Stafford, Ott, and Leino might not be around after this season. I also think that Gerbe needs to be cut.

Miller is my favorite player... but I realize that it is time to move on...

Foligno and Myers are two more of my favorite players but I realize the criticism is needed for their play this year.

I want some big powerful skaters...

100% agree with this message, my biggest fear is movoing up to draft I guy we could have at 16. I feel the peices need to be made now so we can see how high up the draft we can go. If we can swap with say Carolina who needs a nhl ready d man one of the top guys can fall to that spot.

Very few guys in the second or later hit teh top six maybe one a year. Im being realistic, if we can find a guy who can shut down a top line and play well on the pk im all for it. Chances of those guys being in the top 6 is tough.

I think you missed what I was saying... I was saying we have enough of guys who fit in the lines of 3 and 4 with the guys listed... I don't think any of those guys make it above the 3rd line.... and if they do like Foligno or Girgensons.. it is because of potential they haven't shown yet.
