Yup, Philly's like the La Brea Tar Pits for NHL goaltenders...

Imagine, if they traded for Marty Brodeur in 1997, he'd be working at a Wawa now, pumping gas

What are advantages/disadvantages of doing a Buyout on Pronger instead of LTIR ?

Well the big disadvantage is that since he's injured they can't legally do a buyout on him.

How likely is a Bryz for Flower straight up trade ? (in light of bylsma's recent comments)

Draft Marty's son in front of the Jersey fans, then summarily bury him in the ECHL just for fun?

Btw, all three of Marty's sons are at Shattuck's... that place is like Hockey Hogwarts.

About as likely as Pelle Lindbergh being the Flyers starter next season.

Trading Bryzgalov does nothing to mitigate the cap recapture penalties for the Flyers if Bryz retires early.

Have people discussed trading for Trevor Daley yet? (and what would it take to acquire him)

I dont buy that whole mono deal, I just dont. Thats like saying if Jones broke his foot or missed some time he would have slipped. A top 3 player is a top 3 player regardless of a temporary illness. I think Coots is a good player, but I think he was drafted where he should have been.
- flyerfan28

if jones had a down year due to injury or illness, i do believe he could have slipped. just because you know his name now doesn't mean you would under other circumstances.

Bryz will end up a Devil,
- Marc D

I said the same thing when the CBO talk on him started long ago. Honestly, though, he'd be a great fit there.

if mackinon got mono would he drop to 7th?
- 2Real

he didn't get mono 14 days before the draft, he had a whole down season because of an illness.

there is a difference.

Maybe a few seasons ago, but the guy is undersized and turning 30 at the beginning of the season... plus they already have Coburn, who is essentially Trevor Daley w/ size.

The "Not Coatsey" and "Not Lavvy" accounts can be funny sometimes too.
- johndewar

I tried them both but as I'm not local the Coatsey jokes were mostly over my head.

I found the Not Lavvy account to be forced.

Bryz behind the only defense in the league as big and slow as the Flyers'? I'd love to see them face that 6-8 times per year.

yep. well, maybe not bury him. my real dream would be that they draft him and then torture the devils for the next 20 years. that would be so (frank)ing fantastic.

and agreed on shattuck's...

Eh, their commitment to team defense is superior to Philly's. Their downfall last year was a more than normal lack of offense.

good to know..

UFA Derek Roy was a bust in Vancouver.. what would it take to make him a Flyer? He could center 3rd line with Laughton centering 4th.
