Mason has been good in his time in Philly, but there is a reason Columbus was glad to see the back of him. 3 years of growing pains will do that. I would not make him our starter unless we had no other choice. I like him but we need to NOT rush him.

The only way I would buyout bryz is if the (very real) possibility of grabbing a top goalie in the very wide open Buyers goalie market and signing them for less than Bryz or at the very least to a shorter contract. If we were to say sign say Backstrom that'd be nice.

Cause Hemsky has a bit of value... and Horcoff has none with his 5.5 mil cap hit for two more years.... EDIT: Horcoff has value because the money paid out to him is only like 3 mil though, so for a low-money team looking to barely make the payroll floor, he could be attractive. ugh.

im not saying we should throw tons of cash at streit, but he'd certainly help at the right price. whitney was was our best puck mover (by a lot) and regardless of his deficiencies and lead footedness, I think a lot of people are overlooking how badly we might miss that if we don't find someone else.
