Ya it's getting a bit old, most let it go last year, Cody didn't want to be here.
- A_SteamingLombardi

Hearing that Cody "didn't want to be here" is getting old too. There's never been any proof of that. The dead horse is being beaten on both sides of the argument. Let's just call a truce... AV's gone, Cody's gone, hopefully Kassian figures it out.

But beating dead horses is what we do best. Kind of the MO of sport blog sites in general. A little flogging, endless speculation, with a dash of trolling.

I think both sides need a new topic though. The AV vs Cody story is beyond stale.

He's interviewing my mother next week. Mike's leaving no stone unturned.

As a Canucks fan I recommend cheering for Boston to destroy Chicago. Hopefully that would at least force some people to give the 2011 Canucks team a little more credit.
- KB3Point0

So when Chicago destroys Boston , what does that say about the 2011 Canucks team , NOTHING, they are totally unrelated. Hawks will win in 5 or 6 , Bruins will not be able to handle their ability to attack and defend as a 5 man unit. Pittsburgh , with all of their so called speed basically was a dump and chase team and therefore failed miserably . Chicago has been the best team all year and there is no reason for that not to continue.

Probably at the age of 25 he'll be a very good player for the team.

So, Luongo to Toronto for top prospects and first round picks is it then?

I don't think Kes would agree to go to Winterpeg, but IMO he would agree to go to Philly!!

Kesler for B & L Schenn or B Schenn and the Flyers 1st?

Oh look.... a huge AV fan!

- boonerbuck

I hated AV. I wanted him fired after every season starting after the 2nd time we lost to Chicago in the playoffs. Was a great regular season coach and an awful coach in the playoffs.

This season, when he's given a real opportunity by a real coach.

Thanks for the valuable insight. Has absolutely nothing to do with my comment of course.

I'm officially going to start panicking a bit if he doesn't take a step forward in his development by next season. For now, it's too early to panic though(but yes, value-wise so far it looks like Gillis got destroyed on that deal regardless of Cody's demands).

I think we should just trade our entire team for Phiilly's!

patience man...he's got roughly the same amount of points, after just over 80 games in the NHL, as Joe Thornton had after just over 80 games in the NHL. And no I'm not saying he'll be Joe! Let him develop, probably turn into a 20+ goal scoring winger with a physical edge to his game. There's nothing wrong with that!

I'll say he'll come into his own after the next two seasons.

Kassian played well when he played with good players. Was very inconsistent with 4th liners, which is what AV stuck him with on a regular basis.

Cody played so good that he got demoted to the 4th line of the Sabres, an awful team, cause his defence was so bad.

That's just a trade you won't be able to accurately judge for 5 years. Both guys have a tonne of potential.
