Not really laughable. I said I didn't know how good he was. Played the 6th most minutes in PHX. #6 men aren't hard to come by. Redden was had for a conditional 7th. I realize Redden's a pending UFA and on the decline of his career, but I'm sure they're not that far off skill wise. I thought Schlemko was about as good as goncharov. Don't watch many Portland games - TheNugeIsHuge
Goncharov isn't making the show. He still hits hard, but he loses his man looking for the big hit and he can't hit the (frank)ing net anymore which was one of his major highlights. He's like Dion Phaneuf with half the talent and less brain.
Also I think I remember him signing a deal with Moskva recently. |

I've had it with Lahey taking credit for other people's ideas. Back to glory hole duty with LB. |

Sad to say he won the award that means he'll never do poop in the NHL, yet somehow become a solid coach. Fred T. Hunt Trophy |

I like it. Is teubert necessary? Just trying to unload him? He's got no value |

Just trying to avoid giving up another pick. Thought maybe he still had the veneer of value. I'd give them Omark which they'd probably do more with frankly. |

Looks good to me, I think mike smith Would be a bad choice. I honestly believe that half of what he is is due to Tippett's system
I think that Antropov isn't really needed here. If the oilers are lucky enough to grab Nichushkin. Him and Paajarvi could do a revolving door on the 2LW
This is probably a long shot, but how would you feel about taking a run at Jagr? He could be a terrific mentor for pretty much every oiler and can play a role in top 9 scoring role. Him on a third line with paajarvi/Nichushkin and a good two way center is a pretty lethal 3rd line that is just another unique look the oilers could give the opposition |

I'd obviously rather Jagr and/or Nich to Antropov, except for the fact Antro can play centre while Nuge is out. If we could nab one of the former though, I could definitely look past that
I have no idea what it would take to move up to grab Nich, so I'll concentrate on Jagr. The dude still has game! I think what we have to hope for here is that Boston wins the cup, which would allow him to be a little more - uh - whimsical in his choice of where to play out his career. Either way, I think it would be fairly pricy to get him, and maybe less likely if we are getting rid of that guy we've always talked about pairing him with in Hemsky. Pretty ironic if in the end Jagr comes after Hemmer leaves
That being said, does snagging Jagr allow us to keep Hemsky? Indeed, getting Jagr and trying to unite their off-discussed chemistry might mitigate the sting of keeping Hemmer for one more year. Just to see what that would look like:
Hall-Nuge-Eberle
Jagr-Gagner-Hemsky
MPS-Zubrus-Yakupov
blah-blah-blah
In effect, still looks pretty good. It's a roster that is bigger and more able to take care of itself than this past year, but perhaps not tougher or better defensively. Interesting to think about though |

Also Dallas just traded for Gonchar's rights. This may fuel maximumbone's goligoski boner - TheNugeIsHuge
It's really just more of a regular boner, but now that you mention it, I've had it for about 4 days now. Should I be concerned? |

Lol yeah Hemsky has been campaigning for Jagr forever!
Another pro to getting jagr is the low risk of 1 year deals. We can take him as he comes and if we ever need cap space he doesn't become a burden.
I'd still like to see hemmer move on. I almost feel bad for him now. A change in scenery would give him a fresh start (preferably east)
As for getting meaner, I think it's only a matter of time. Once the oilers start winning and confidence is there the chippy borderline cocky get under your skin attitude will show.
Guys like hall, yak and gagner can hold their own pretty well. Once they are the ones in the cellar they can play with swagger.
If you noticed Marchand doesn't play the same chippy style in a slump. When he's going he has everyone's attention.
Basically what I'm saying is when the oilers start to develop a winning attitude, our skill and confidence will shine through. The last Phoenix game of the year is kinda what I'm thinking of.
Even though they lost the game there they showed the heart that was missing for years. Yak was ready to take on Yandle, and the boys held their own. We'll get there.
That being said I wouldn't mind a pest like Ott on the oilers to take some attention off the other players

Dubey had 12th best SV% among starters. But judging by your all caps and impeccable wit. I'm gonna go on a limb and say you didn't know that.
Last 3 teams left finished 1,2,4 in fenwick close this season. Where TO finished 2nd last to BUF. (EDM wasn't far off at 3rd last). Pair that with TO having the second worst shot differential and highest shooting percentage this year, and it's safe to say they'll likely be winning the cup next year.
TO benefitted from the shortened season. And because they made the playoffs, they think they've done something right so they won't change a thing. EDM on the other hand is aware that they sucked Richard, so they'll attempt to improve the team. |

By making MacT the gm? Didn't work as the coach so why not eh. And noone thinks Leafs are a contender. Blame it on the short season all you want. How come your Oilers didn't make the playoffs playing in the weakest division this year in a short year? But they played really well vs Boston a cup contender. Pitts and NYR had 1 win combined. Leafs had 3 and choked. Could have won. The problem is Oilers fans think one player is gonna fix things. No it wont. And your bloggers has a boner for forwards. |

Your forwards look good but your defense is atrocious. And whenever I watch Oilers games Dubnik has a bad game. Sharks 6-1 win comes to mind. |
