MacT's tearing down the team (outside of the top 6 and top 3 D). I wouldn't be surprised if there were more than 7 new faces next year.
-Top 4 D, 3C,4C,3RW,2LW,4LW, backup+ maybe

This could be a bad thing

team chemistry's a tricky mistress, and you don't want any divisions going up between the new guard and the old guard.

If we take MacT on his word that Horcoff and Hemsky are gone, we probably have to take him on his word that Gagner, Smyth, etc. are probably back.

it won't be worse than 7th last. Bottom 6 needs a makeover. NHL players on the 4th line'll help. An assistant coach that likes line matching'll help. Can't watch Brown's line play against Hossa's line ever again

I agree the bottom 6 needed to be better, but so did the top 6 and top 4 defensively.

The big new acquisition for me will be a top 6 winger with size and two-way ability. That could be huge.

I haven't heard much chatter regarding Clarke MacArthur. 3 years at 2.5 mm could be a very very solid pick up. He could play 2LW and 3LW quite easily.

Thoughts?

I have no issue with Smyth being back. I hope Krueger cuts his minutes back even more this season.

I agree, he could be had at a good price. My opinion of him as a player is that he's weird: I never notice him at all, ever. And then he always seem to pop up here and there and score a goal. Invisible can be a good or bad thing for a 3LW player, but I never think of him as a guy worth looking at, even though it's objectively a pretty okay choice.

Unless youre of the opinion that Harti makes the club full time next year, I think he could work well on the left side. I want a team that competes up and down the ice. So a cheap 3LW scoring threat is a pretty solid option, No? DEPTH DEPTH DEPTH

I believe were going to see MPS play full time minutes on the second line this year... Id cream my pants if he could become more consistent.

I don't think we need scoring depth that much compared to a gritty two-way type. Would we rather 20 point Justin Abdelkader who can get under people's skin or 40 point Clarke MacArthur who probably can't. Although i'll admit he's somewhat underrated in that category.

I would love to get him. I have no idea why he's so disrespected by Toronto fans. If not this year via trade then next year via FA, he's a great pickup

Perfect fit with RNH-Ebs. Plays tough minutes well. Big. Playing with two studs. Wonder what it'd take.

maybe. Haven't heard that. Didn't know goncharov was going to russia either. Speaking of PHX prospects/players. What do people think of Schlemko? I might deal Hemsky for him.

Where's French to comment?

- TheNugeIsHuge

Laughing my ass off to the bank on that deal mate.

Schlemko is a fine 6th dman and has shown some signs of being slightly more, but the return for Hemsky would have to be pretty low if it was a one for one, probably have to add at least a 2nd and a 5th.

Yak needs to be put back on the right side. Hell no to Gagner on the wing.

I'd trade a 2nd and a conditional 2nd based on him re-signing with us. That seems fair to both sides imo.

Not really laughable. I said I didn't know how good he was. Played the 6th most minutes in PHX. #6 men aren't hard to come by. Redden was had for a conditional 7th. I realize Redden's a pending UFA and on the decline of his career, but I'm sure they're not that far off skill wise. I thought Schlemko was about as good as goncharov. Don't watch many Portland games
