No more suspensions and a better PK! - yaktalksback
PK really isn't an issue, but he sure would fit. |

I'm kinda serious though. They dealt Kessel because of cap space. So who now would give the best return? Heck deal him to Florida for Kulikov+ or the 2nd overall? - Lahey
I don't think their cap trouble is bad enough that they would trade Seguin. I'd be willing to bet they let Horton walk this summer unless he takes a hometown discount. |

Here is a UFA signing suggestion way out of left field.. bring back Raffi Torres. |

Heard this for awhile. I can't see it simply because of his RC Cola problem he had here. |

Fair enough. The one thing Boston has done well is address who needs to stay and who needs to go. Seguin has a long career ahead of him, but you want to continue winning the next few years moving him to keep Horton allows you to keep winning and re-stock the cupboards.
Just a thought. |

They could let Horton, Jagr and Ference go and they'd be fine. They might not be as dominant, but pretty darn good. I don't think they're in that dire straits, and I'd trade Kelly for a small return to clear space than they do make the blockbuster Seguin deal. Then again, I'm not a maverick like Chiarelli. |

The Oilers could really use a top 4 Dman and the Bruins are really strapped against the cap heading into next season. There is some speculation that Boychuck could be available this summer due to cap constraints. He would be a good fit in Edm and could really give them big minutes. - fudd1689
I'd love Boychuk. Isn't he like BOS's #3? Don't know why they'd let him go. Also don't know what BOS'd want |

Why would you trade Boychuck before kelly or peverley? - Lahey
It would be easier to find suitors for Boychuck because Top 4 guys are at a premium right now. Kelly and Peverley could be moved but not for the right return. Chara and Seidenberg are your top 2 and with the impressive play of Bartkowski, Hamilton, and Krug, Boychuck could be moved. |

Although young, his playoff performance has been sub par. Do you keep a consistent playoff guy in Horton? Or assume seguin becomes there go to guy in a couple years. Regardless if they are willing to listen to offers for seguin, I hope Mac t calls.
I don't know if we have enough to get it done without using one of the young guys.
Maybe:
Edm: seguin
Boston: kulikov and the 7th overall
Florida: Sam gagner, anaheims second
If I recall, Florida was listening on offers for kulikov? |

Agreed, I think he should certainly be on their list.
If they made a splash and got Antropov and Zubrus, for example, they could run
Hall-Gagner-Eberle
MPS-Antropov-Yakupov
Hartikainen-Zubrus-Jones (wingers subject to change here)
Smyth-Smithson-Brown
while Nuge was out, and
Hall-Nuge-Eberle
Antropov-Zubrus-Yakupov
MPS-Gagner-Jones
Smyth-Smitshon-Brown
when he got back |

I think if Boston is going to dangle Seguin it will only be done for a big return. I don't think Chiarelli does that deal, I know he struggled this season and postseason but he still has a bundle of talent. Last season he posted 29-38-67, which for a sophomore season is pretty darn good. If Seguin is to go to Edm, no way it happens without one of Eberle or Yaks coming the other way. |

Yeah I think our 3rd line there could use a lift, and I guess the "slam all the foreigners on a line with their countrymen" thing is kind of hooey, but it's a bigger and better top 9 defensively imo. |

Antropov should not be relied on for top six time regularly but your on the right track, yea.

Yeah it's a shame that Nuge won't be healthy to begin the year because it would be nice to try out random meanies with the Nuge-Ebs pairing. I don't think it would take a lot of offensive skill to compliment those two. Maybe Beach could make good on some of his promise in a new situation. |

That's what I was thinking. I mean to me, you may get a Zack Kassian, without paying Cody Hodgson. Worth a risk, imo. He has back to back 16 goal seasons in the AHL. With Nuge and Eberle playing with him, I don't think it's ridiculous to put him down for 15 in the NHL while clearing space and going in the corners.
King would look great in the top 9 too. If Ryan Jones wasn't a UFA, he would be a good swap for King.
I'd also really look for an upgrade at centre if Monahan is off the table. Gagner + 7th for Jenner and Dubinsky?

Daniel Catenacci and Ville Leino for Horcoff
Hemsky for Mattias Ekholm
Resign Jones
Sign Zubrus, Steckel
Hall-RNH-Jones
Paajarvi-Gagner-Eberle
Leino-Zubrus-Yakupov
Smyth/Lander-Steckel-Brown
J.Schultz-Smid
Petry-Ekholm
N.Schultz-Belov/Potter
Leino saves you a mill on the cap and you get a decent prospect cause his contract still has 4 years on it.
Before people freak out, take it from a Flyers fan whose seen him play plenty, Leino is PHENOMENAL when he's healthy. That obviously has a lot to do with it, but if he is healthy he's definitely worth a look. Worst comes to worst you use a compliance buy-out on him next season.
He'd be a sneaky add. Oilers are a fantastic team for him to play with, way more players that can play to his speed and style. |

I would be prepared to send Eberle for Seguin in hopes he would line up down the middle. That would allow us to move Gagner for a defenseman, such as Kulikov.
Then we could move the 7th overall + to fill that 2nd line RW void. Say the 7th overall for Wayne Simmonds
Hall Nuge Yak
Paajarvi Seguin Wayne Simmonds
Beach Lapriere Jones
Brown Smithson Gordon (use him as a wing or centre)
Kulikov Schultz
Belov Petry
Smid Schultz
Thoughts? |

I really like Seguin, but an Eberle for Seguin swap would be a fair deal for both teams. |

I honestly don't think Homer would do the 7th for Simmonds
