Great post, always love your stuff Eric. A few thoughts from reading it....

1) Could not agree more on Bergeron (obviously, as a Bruins fan). Glad he is getting his due around the league. We love him in Boston for obvious reasons, and we hope he finishes his career here as the ultimate heir apparent to Chara for wearing the C. I believe his number will be hanging in the rafters one day.

2) I think Bickell has more Joel Ward in him than Fernando Pisani. And how's that working out for Washington? Bickell has an intriguing combination of size and skill, but then again that's what the Caps said when they shelled out (fairly) big money for Ward. Bottom line, Bickell is cast perfects in Chicago as a 2nd/3rd line complimentary player but due to his playoff performance whatever teams gets him will almost definitely be overpaying which means more will be expected of him. Will he live up to those expectations? The skill/size set says maybe but history says probably not.

3) Pittsburgh is not cooked yet, especially if they win tonight. That said, Bylsma deserves whatever he has coming to him. His outright refusal to match his lines and get his top players away from the Bruins' shutdown pairing of Chara-Seids and the Bergeron line is beyond idiotic. The biggest mismatch Pitt could have in this series is Crosby or Malkin out there against he likes of Ference, McQuaid, Peverely, and Seguin.....yet Bylsma has done nothing to make that happen, even when he was home and had the last change. And he still refuses to do so even though his top players have produced nothing to date and the Pens badly need them to get going. I will never understand this though I will remain grateful for it.

I don't understand this talk about Bickell turning into Pisani. Are people forgetting that Pisani was diagnoised with a case of severe Colitis following the Oilers run, and he was never the same after.
