Ill be shocked if we can get anyone that remotely resembles the value of Jeff Carter for Edler. I guess in time will tell what the real value is. If I am gillis the moment that Pitt is eliminated I am offering Edler Schnieder for Malkin type package.

Yea who wants Malkin. He just has a conn smythe to his name and is still 28 years old and in his prime. Maybe we can get more guys that are useless and play on the 4th line.

Not a chance, he wants 6 mil+ a season and to be on the top-6
- DariusKnight

Given what we saw in the playoffs I don't think Roy should be re-signed for anything but out of curiosity where did you hear that he was demanding $6m?

I'd love to get Malkin but the issue with him is that he's a UFA next summer.

I'm not even sure where to start?

- IanEsplen

How about at looking at center

sedin (3ish more years hopefully)
Mackinnon (Proabably franchise center for the next 12 years)
Bjustad (Perfect third line center for now and 2nd line center in a couple years)
Lappy/Gaunce (split duties on 4th gaunce eventually becomes third line center

You have to give to get florida would be stupid to turn that down

If you add Malkin that's exactly what you are going to get. Malkin is actually only 26, will be 27 when the season starts, already earns $9m/season and is an UFA after the season. This moves takes away depth in the lineup instead of adding it. I'd rather add a guy who hasn't entered his prime and is making $3m and then add better quality complimentary players than Weise and Sestito.

1- I am not a fan of this kid at all.
2- why in the hell would Florida deal Mac?
3- Gaunce is no 4th liner. He's a better player than Bjugstad now and he'll be a better player 5 years from now. Please don't insult him by posting him behind Bjugstad.
4- Did I mention Bjugstad is crap?

So much for buying Booth out. He will still be considered injured so not eligible to be bought out. Once again Gold star for MG

He wasn't used properly by our staff (what's new?). Still definitely not worth anywhere near $6 million per.

He's the 2nd line center I'd like to see us try to trade for and seems to be built for the playoffs.

I'm thinking he's fine now. there were rumours of him being ready at some point in the playoffs.

And I would imagine that you can be moved off of IR somehow in the offseason.

And if not,

"Booth you healthy yet?"

"I don't know Mike, I'm still sore."

"Okay, looks like you'll be spending the next two years on IR, we need the cap room."

"What? Yah I feel much better now"

2 years left at $4.65m, I'd rather keep Kesler.

George Karl just got fired... He could help our offence and was coach of the year

I'm sure he must have to meet with medical staff regularly, or at least have his doctor communicate with Canucks staff.

If bruins sweep the pens, do you think bylsma will get fired?

I wonder if he wonders how AV scored so many goals against the Bruins in the SCF

High ankle sprain right?

I know that takes some time but it's been 4 months. That's a lot of healing time.

LA only gave up two 2nd round picks for Regehr because he isn't in the same class as Edler. Look what they got for Jack Johnson. They got Jeff Carter. And Edler is a lot better than Johnson. St. Louis traded Erik Johnson and got Chris Stewart and Kevin Shattenkirk. Guess what, Edler's better than that Johnson too.

There is a tonne of value in trading good, young defencemen, who are locked up long term on below market value contracts.

- KB3Point0

You guys are overvaluing your own players like Oiler fans do.

Let me give you some facts. I'll take one Regehr over two Edlers. Regehr is a physical, bruising, tough, sound, playoff d-man. Edler makes mistakes, is a wuss, and is not built of the playoffs.

Jack Johnson is a whole different story. For whatever reason, the guy was always hyped up to be something that he'll never be. He was probably the most overrated player for a few seasons leading up the trade.

Bylsma and AV run very similar systems apparently and a lot of Pitt fans can't wait to get rid of him, so careful what some of you guys wish for.
