Nope just pointing out that you are treating Buffalo like a 2nd class organization when in fact both of the teams we root for are in the same class as they're both 0-43.
- dadeadhead

In assessing whether Ott could be traded I simply pointed out the fact that the Sabres are historically not a high spending team. Which is a fact. Never said anything negative about the organization.

Did you actually click the link and read the story?

If you haven't checked it out read up on Jamal Watson. He could turnout to be a steal for someone on June 30th.

Hey, I'll give you one chance. Beat it, or I'll go back and add on for the other immature, useless and bannable posts that I let go. Your choice.

He's not Kesler or Burrows, he's Brendan Gaunce. If you're going to compare him to either of those two its Kesler, both first round choices. Difference is, Kesler is a tremendous skater. Gaunce is more mature than Kesler as a 19 year old, he's physically more mature\ready, different kettle of fish.

Anyways if he shows that he belongs then you play him, if he doesn't you send him back to junior. I think it's foolish to just arbitrarily say he's not ready. People were shocked when Ryan OReilly made the NHL as an 18 year old, he's doin ok! BTW didn't Kesler play as a 19 year old?

Not that I'm siding with Fosco, but I would rather see a guy like Mallet, who is destined for a bottom 6 role (if he makes the NHL) get the bottom six ice time and possibly progress than to rush a first round selection. So, if Mallet & Gaunce both give you equal quality in a 3rd/4th line role at the NHL level, then I'll take Mallet and let Gaunce play 20+ minutes in the OHL for another year. Now, if Gaunce comes to camp and is far and away the best option to centre or play wing in the NHL, then by all means, make that happen.

Note I use Mallet only as an example, not that he will actually challenge for NHL duty this coming season.

He's picked it up a bit lately, but yeah, he has generally sucked. I despise that team and their stupid (frank)ing chop.

So much for buying Booth out. He will still be considered injured so not eligible to be bought out. Once again Gold star for MG

You're allowed to side with whomever you want! This is all just opinions anyways

I'm just interested to see how it all plays out, I'm hoping Gaunce is a nice surprise and he comes to camp and earns a job. I like his two way game, I like his maturity level, I like his size and I like that he's a Canucks pick and everyone passed on him. I just feel he can make that next step.

One more year in junior will absolutely not hurt him in any way shape or form.

He has many gold stars. Who gave Lou that contract? Who traded Hodjson for 4th liner Kassian? Who trade Grabner and a 1st for Ballard? Most overrated gm in the league. He just inherited a burke and nonis built team and couldn't make them better. Jason Garrsion 5 year contract after 1 good season?

Yeah they do but expecting an unthinkable trade is gonna disappoint you. Unless you trade with Feaster...

Trade Higgins and let Booth be the 3rd line LW? Gillis is really pissing me off lately, he's got some work to do this summer!

Totally agree, I want the best team on the ice possible, only that I would rather see a guy who is more capable to fill a role filling that role, than the "better player", know what I mean?

I have high hopes for Gaunce and hope he can step in and contribute sooner than later, but if he goes back to Jr his ELC slides for one more year, which could end up helping the Canucks to resign the twins for a couple more years.

Any GM that's capable of analysing the situation (as opposed to looking at a stats sheet & jumping to a conclusion) will acquire Ballard and get an absolute steal.

Jason Garrison was probably the best all around defenceman last season for the canucks and fully earned his salary. And seriously, If Gillis inherited Burk's leavings what has Nonis done? Don't forget Tallon gave Grabner away for nothing. Kassian is also not a "4th liner" in the same sense that Hodgson is not a "1st liner", its all about circumstances.

Edler is better than Jack Johnson and Erik Johnson.

Jack Johnson was traded for Jeff Carter.
Erik Johnson was traded for Chris Steward and Kevin Shattenkirk.

Edler is worth A LOT.

- KB3Point0

Jack Johnson AND a 1st for Carter.
Erik Johnson and McClement to a desperate and stupid GM for Stewart and Shattenkirk.

The latter is the exception, not the rule. You're likely looking at a return similar to the former as Edler and J. Johnson have similar value.

Ill be shocked if we can get anyone that remotely resembles the value of Jeff Carter for Edler. I guess in time will tell what the real value is. If I am gillis the moment that Pitt is eliminated I am offering Edler Schnieder for Malkin type package.
