In all honesty I'd trade Kesler, Edler, Schneider & Bieksa to change the culture of this team...IF...I could get positional value for each of them.
Luongo as well, but he won't get much of a return. - LeftCoaster

Who is rooting for Chicago and who for LA in this series? And why?
I am for Chicago just because I don't want so see LA (or any team) win back to backs. |

We'll have no money for any UFA's, Gillis will just be fortunate to get under the cap and ice a full roster. Unless he does what I want, which is trade a few core players! - LeftCoaster
I think he will certainly entertain it. A lot of players this season had really bad seasons due to the lockout, that could be signed on the cheap. Imagine how much money Clowe has lost out on with his performance? Now take somebody that made 2.2 last year and had an off year and they could be had at a steal.
An example would be the deal Manny signed with the Sharks for the season before he came to us. That's the kind of deals we need to find. The Torres deal is another one. Not stars, just effective hockey players that make us harder to play against. |

Neither I hate both but I would rather see Chicago win because LA VS Boston would be some really boring $hit. Lets face it Pens are done. I would be really surprised if they came back. |

All I know is if the Bruins play the Hawks I'm cheering for the Bruins.
Actually, i'm cheering for a Keith / Marchand fight more than anything.
For some reason, I dislike the Hawks as much as ever this year. |

It's way too hard to pull that many trades off over a short period of time, it's just never going to happen. Trading both goalies would be stupid, I'd keep Schneider for sure and rather move Luongo for nothing. Not to mention that Bieksa and Kesler have NTC's, which again makes it difficult to get full trade value since Gillis would lose leverage. - Nucker101

Not me. If the return is substantially better for Schneids I pull the trigger on that deal in a heartbeat.
Also, due to cap reasons I think we could possibly see quite a few trades this year. Aside from the twins I don't see any untouchables on the roster although trading Kesler when his value is so low doesn't make a whole pile of sense. |

I'm all for that, looking forward to the summer!! I just want to see some change other than a coaching change...because I don't think that's enough. Although I definitely believe it was an issue. |

I don't think anyone does including Gillis. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if both Booth and Ballard came back. I also wouldn't be surprised to see one of Edler/Bieksa traded to make room for some salary and get a good return.

I think too many of you are underestimating the importance and value of a young franchise goalie. Schneider's numbers clearly show that he's the better goalie now and will likely continue to be. Luongo's save percentage was pretty mediocre for playing on a division winner, although to be fair he was hung out to dry a couple of times and thrives on a heavy workload and had to deal with the media circus.
Again, IMO Luongo just needs to go if this team really wants a change. I can't see him leading the Canucks to the promise land after all that's happened and with the fact that he's aging. |

Just a hunch, but I think Kesler would gladly accept a trade to Philly. Send him there for Brayden Schenn. Trade Schneider to the NYI for Brock Nelson. Trade Eddie to St. Louis for Shattenkirk. |

Like MAF? How about Dipietro? How did Price look in the playoffs? Miller?
We still haven't seen Schneider play a full season, and he isn't all that young. What's his playoff record?
If the return is good you move him. One thing about Lu is you know he's good for 65 games.
Elliot and Smith were both on their last NHL chances, and turned it around in a hurry. |

I'm sure he would but I would want more than just Schenn for Kesler lopsided trade and we have not imporved the team. Same as the rest. Shattenkirk is RFA also. |

Philly can buy out Briere and Bryz plus put Pronger on LTIR when the season starts, that saves them 16 million dollars in salary. Even if it's just Pronger and Briere that's $11.5 million right there.
Blues have 24 million in cap space. |

Kesler is definitely > than B. Schenn. But that kid has skill and grit, not sure who you mean is over-rating him? He has so much potential, he's also ahead of where Kesler was as a 21 year old. |

Didn't mean to come off sounding like that, my bad. You're not stupid, just unrealistic.
Honestly I think we could see one of Kesler or Edler moved, not both and I'd still put the odds at 50/50 at best(likely Edler). - Nucker101

The hockey world. He'll be 22 in August, which is still young. I personally think much of the hype has to do with his draft position. If I'm trading Kesler for Schenn I want picks involved. |
