just speechless boys.

everything we asked of the penguins, they did tonight 5 on 5.

it's the powerplay. one of our greatest assets coming into the series, and it has killed us one game after another. you were handed gift after gift and we couldn't do anything about it.

there are some teams that are just destined to win. Boston obviously with the BM bombing, losing out on guys like Iginla, getting Jagr, and then the luck in the playoffs. battling back from the Leafs and now this.

theyre a hell of a team. losing to them isn't something to be ashamed of. the way we have lost, maybe, but to the bruins, no way.

series isn't over. I remember a time in 2010 in a similar situation where our crosstown rivals were saying the same thing and preparing for the offseason. but that flyers team never quit playing and won in 7. penguins can do that too. it will take luck, good bounces, and most of all, smart play and good goaltending.

if we lose, we lose. there are bigger tragedies in the world than watching your favorite hockey team lose.

hopefully this is the start of something big. changes will have to be made and Shero will have a lot of decisions to make.

penguins left it all out on the ice tonight, there is no shame in that.

disagree with morrow. morrow has been solid this whole series. I agree with despres. and I would put TK in over Vitale.
- SuperHenderson13

Hey that's cool, But then you lose Vitale as centre... That would be my only gripe

No shame in losing a series to Boston, just wish Friday's game was more interesting.

I will say this about Bylsma. He should've played Despres all regular season because it means little and the guys he's playing now aren't good enough. Bylsma stunted his growth as a hockey player.

If Bylsma can make these two decisions in the next game he will earn some points with me...

Kennedy and Despres in
Morrow and Engelland out

- nelson911

You are correct with exception to morrow take vitale out instead.

Consequences should be irrelevant. It's absolute bullpoop that playoff games always turn into a free for all at some point. Why call penalties ever? Seems like the more serious consequences should encourage a strict adherence to the rules.
- Putzfrau

the truth is that penalties are probably called a bit too easily during the regular season, and maybe not enough during playoff time.

I'm with you. I'd rather it was the same all the time ... I'm just saying that IF they do err on one side or the other, I'd rather it be to NOT call a penalty during OT playoff hockey.

I respect your point, though.

You're an idiot. The Penguins played the right way for the first time in this series but didn't get the bounces. We didn't deserve to lose this one. No way. But $hit happens.
- Orpik44

You didn't deserve to lose but someone had to, that was a great f.n. game, pens played great, vocoun stood on his head, ... Wow

Can't say bruins didn't deserve that, their goalie and stick work were phenomenal...

I didn't see enough Crosby tonight.... Letang was brutal... Hell Nisk has to be scratched for Despres id stick with engo over Nisk

Starting Vokoun was the objectively correct choice for the Penguins.

that one OT shift for Crosby was classic Sid ... the one where he lost his lid.

Thought he was single handly going to win that for you guys.

but I know someone else said it, but man, I think Rick Tocchet would be a hell of a coach. try and convince Billy G to join him as an assistant and you got a good coaching staff.

This is a game that you would expect in the conference final. Could've gone either way. Its a shame the Pens couldn't put the effort in from the first game. Too little too late.

Letang is playing his way out of a great contract. Hopefully Niskanen has played his way into a trade. Even if its for pucks.

I pretty much agree with what you are saying.

I just look at it from this perspective. If I'm a player in double overtime I'm doing my damnedest to play the cleanest game possible because I'm not gonna be that guy that gives the opposing team a power play deep in ot.

You play the game assuming one thing and in reality it's another. It's the constant guesswork that's bullpoop. Every playoff series becomes who can get away with more, or who's the unlucky bastard that gets the reluctant and arbitrary penalty called on them.

Yup. That was the shift just before the Bruins scored. I thought Crosby was going to will the puck in the net.

Then, as so often happens, a close chance at one end turns into a goal at the other.

Malkin lost a battle to someone about 15 yrs older....Hook or not, either way Orpik got burned.
- sammy87

I go with this one, hook or not. That's effing hockey especially in the playoffs.

And I almost broke my foot, but after a heated walk realized 68 finally came back and screwed us.

We played out a$$es off. I give the boys credit from the 2nd on they battled the way they needed to from game 1.

Rask is making all the difference, and their D won't allow the chances we had vs. NYI and Ott.

The PP set up was atrocious. 4 left handed shots on PP #1. WTF.

I thought Morrow was very noticiable tonight. I'd keep him in the lineup. Cooke looked good on the 2nd line as well. I wouldn't change a thing for next game (I'm afraid to put Despres now that the series is on the line

I really don't understand why Iggy didn't get one chance on the first PP. Just maddening watching them doing the same thing chance after chance. Damn shame.
