Ennis has a .65ppg or average of 53pts per 82 games
Ryan has a .77 PPG or average of 63pts per 82 games
Add in Ryan's other intangibles that Ennis doesn't have and you end up having to give up a decent amount + Ennis to get Ryan |

He's the same guy that said the NHL combine and extensive training is a waste of time. This, the guy who was totally out of shape and just fought for 30 seconds a game. |

Ennis has way more upside. Ryan, it seems, has hit his ceiling from a productivity standpoint.
Either one would be fine. Doesn't matter anyway. Neither one is the key piece to a cup. Trading away 2nd and 3rd line players for other teams 2nd and 3rd liners and mid round draft picks will not make this team any better. |

I agree to a point. I don't think there is a huge difference in what Ennis can produce to what Ryan will produce. Although Ryan would be a 1st line player on a lot of teams. Ennis is a good 2nd line wing/center |

ESPN ranked Hockey higher than Basketball, Football, AND Baseball? This list must be fake. |

Thats kind of bullpoop response because youre taking the best athletic person in the NBA and comparing him to someone whos probably in the 300 range in terms of NHL players.
But, Thomas Vanek would be better at Basketball than LeBron James would be at hockey.
The whole argument is rather dumb, because athletes train for their specific sports at young ages these days. |

They're not even comparable, they're two completely different kind of sports with different play styles and training methods. If you really wanted to compare the two, have them play against each other in a game of water polo or handball. |

Like I was pointing out with that article, there is more to athleticism and being an athlete than just having high agility and flexibility.
The average hockey player would do better in the NBA than the elite basketball player would do in the NHL.

Well that's for obvious reasons, any NHL player can stand on two feet and run around like a maniac throwing a ball everywhere. But asking super tall NBA players to skate... when they probably never have, that's a totally different story. |

not a chance. put shaq or lebron in front of the next they arent being nudged. let gretzky or crosby try to box out someone going for a rebound and they will get ragdolled
chara is like literally the only person from the NHL who is comparable athletically to players in the NBA because hes an athletic freak by NHL standards. |

They aren't comparable, comparing players from two completely different sports is like trying to compare Bob Dylan to Skrillex, you just can't do it. |

this is the wrong argument. its not about skill at a sport. its about general athleticism. let hockey players compete against nba players in a decathalon, who wins?
being able to ice skate isnt an athletic ability its a skill you have to learn. being able to jump really high is an athletic ability |

I like the idea of handball more or even water polo more, it combines the elements of both their sports. |

I got on the Sabres phone app for the first time in a long time and there was a mock draft on the opening page. Might be an article on NHL.com, not sure.
8. Lindholm: C 6'1" 181 An impeccable skater with a "total package" skill set, Lindholm world-class vision, instincts, and two-way commitment provide game-changing elements for any team to build around. The creative 6-footer motors in and out of traffic seeking opportunity, but more importantly plays the game hard in all situations with the intangible trait to bring out the best in his mates.
16. Santini: D, 6'2" 207 Named best defenseman at the IIHF U18 World Championship (past winners include: Brent Seabrook, Erik Karlsson, Ryan Suter, Kevin Shattenkirk, Adam Larsson, Cam Fowler) Santini's well-rounded skill set helps solidify the Sabres' future defensive core. The draft is all about projecting players three-to-five years down the road, and the right-handed BC commit already stands out with his impressive skating, open-ice hitting and keen shutdown acumen.
I'd be happy with that first round if we decided to stay put. Been talking about Santini for a week or so now. Really like what people are starting to say about him and his future in the NHL |
