What about Briere?
Anyone?
Anyone? - Atomic Wedgie
I would. Vet presence who knows how to win, you can slot him around and he will put up roughly 50 pts. A solid guy to have for the stretch, if he gets hurt we slot up someone like colborne. Seems like a no lose to me.
As for Strome, I guess I was watching a different guy. Kadri did more as an 18 year old with less and he developed for 3 years... So an about to be NHL ready Jake Gardiner for a kid who wont be on the Leafs next season is a weak trade. No chance I do Gards for Strome straight up, let alone adding.

Absolutely - nobody has any idea whether MLSE would actually entertain this ....or better yet, whether Wang would.
But we can still banter about the merits.

i have a solution for this
let the wife take care of it
i dont even look at my pay anymore.. just cash the cheque.. tell the gf.. she then tells me about 20 min later how much i have to spend
its a wonderful thing.. because she makes sure i have more than enough money to have a few beers and buy whatever i weed.
so either i make more than i thought or she is super good with money.. i am guessing its the latter - Dozzer

What about a guy like Scuderi instead of Clarkson/Horton etc. Seems like he would solidify the D and provide the extra experience and defensive responsibility that they said they wanted to get for Dion. |

can't believe the topic of Dipietro has reared its ugly head here again, one day in the oilers threads, then the canucks threads, and now two days here.
As for GOT, part of that scene really wasn't needed. I don't care that so and so got stabbed repeatedly in the abdomen, but if they were goiing to do that, I wish they hadn't gone and made up a whole storyline that was nowhere in the books. That scene has made my day a living hell, as my wife has gone all completely depressed. So HBO wanted to shock us, seriously, the story in the book was shocking enough. They didn't need to try and go one step further to underline the tragedy of the situation. |

Kadri didn’t really do more as an 18 year old. Keep in mind one falls a week after the cutoff for drafting, the other a couple of months before. 2 years draft difference, almost 3 years difference in age. 10 more points in 10 more games as an 18 year old. And Strome had 1 more point in 3 less games as a 19 year old. They have remarkably similar career paths, points wise. While I don’t think there is a big gap, I do think that Strome’s game, size, etc, translates better to the NHL. I think had they been drafted at the same time, Strome would be the better prospect. Not by a lot, but he would.
And if you’re going to bring that up, start to compare that to Gardiner as an 18/19 year old….. Gardiner for Strome would be an interesting idea, straight up. I think I’d actually do it. I don’t think it’s going to take Strome another 3 years to hit the NHL. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him playing second line centre next year, actually. Grabovski, Kadri, Strome up the middle would look mighty nice to me. And Gardiner is replaced by Rielly in a couple of years anyway, I’d imagine. And there is plenty of D help in the pipes. Guys with first line centre potential? Not so much.
