I'm always skeptical of those things that's why I'm asking if he's got experience with it.

I know what I gotta do to lose weight. a few years ago I shed 40lbs.

Cut back on salt, cut out all sodas, cut back on simple carbs, do more exercise(even a marginal increase over a long time makes a difference).

problem is, last year there was lots of stress, and I went back to eating more crap/doing less exercise, so I put back 10lbs... I'm down a few now, but gotta keep working on it. Big problem with working full time is being able to plan out your meals for the week... and adding a new dog to the equation- while it helps with the exercise- wreaks havoc on the timing of things.

A really smart thing to do is write out a calendar of what you are going to make for dinner each week. It forces you to plan ahead, have all the ingredients, and it's easier to stick to. Even if you come home dead tired, you're a little more likely to make the chicken fajitas than just order a pizza.

I don't mind saying here...

was Powerbait 3"Brown grubs on a 1/8th ounce (mighta been 1/4...) jig.

Was surprised a fish that big took it actually, but I have a lot of luck with that.

yea, we talked about that, haven't done it yet

A wrinkle in the plan, 3 people live in her apartment, and I'm pretty much there full time now... and there's only 1 fridge.

Bacon wrapped eggs:

equipment required: muffin pan
(using those muffin paper things also makes cleanup a helluva lot easier)

grease up the muffin pan, put bacon along the rim of each thing to make the walls, and then in the middle to make a base. The fewer holes you see, the better the final product.

Bake it breifly to let the bacon crisp up.

put some cheese in the bacon cups, crack an egg in it, or scramble some eggs with whatever ingredients you like, and pour them in cups. You can put more cheese/bacon on top.

throw it back in the oven until it's done.

I prefer scrambled eggs in there- they puff up amazingly, and cook more evenly.

Use a spoon to scoop them out- go along the edges first to make sure nothing's sticking. I plate them with home fries or salsa.

easy to make, but if you don't have the paper forms to put inside, clean-up's a female dog.

thanks

I wish I took a pick in the net of it's back - I was pretty stoked.

Best part - if you look close at the pick you can see the grub... just below it's eye I think he gave it a quick taste and spit it but I snagged him when I set the hook

couldn't believe I got it in hooked like that

did you get out to Jordan on the weekend?

nah no jumps at all, but might be due to how it was hooked. put up a little fight but then calmed down. pretty shallow water though too, didn't have a lot of room

Cooking food with Maple syrup is something I just discovered! Other products I never thought about using: Jam or Jelly for glazes or sauces. I also use a lot of pastes now, some I actually make at home from the garden. Haven't bought a salad dressing from the store in months, all from herbs in the garden mixed with oils/vinegars/lime or lemon juices or jarred/pickled vegetables.

gave up summer hockey this year
been playing back in Toronto since we moved out here year and a half ago - drive's a bit much, especially cause I used to play twice a week in summer.

looking at playing in St Catharines this winter. Half the price of TO leagues!

Nope, not even subway, we go to a great deli and bakery nearby and purchase cold cuts and buns.

edit: picked our first batch of boston lettuce from the garden today, romaine is coming up soon.

Funny thing is, the recipe is soooo simple. It's slightly more complicated than making ice cubes.

I may end up doing this for my youngest daughter. She hasn't turned five yet, and so far her bacon accomplishments include:

- making a bracelet out of a strip of bacon at a restaurant
- selecting a pile of bacon bits to be her dessert at a buffet

I'm just so damn (sniff) proud...(sniff)...something caught in my eye....
