Well he originally conceived of the book after studying the War of the Roses, you know the Lancasters Lannisters and the Yorks Starks, plus the wall is literally Hadrians Wall only put into fantasy setting so it's 7 miles high and made of ice instead of 10 feet high and made of crappy stone. - AdamFrench
Was Hadrian's wall ever manned after the Romans left?

Mine still looked like ground meat, and stuck together just fine... but I'm just trying to make a lean recipe(was originally gonna do it with turkey, but they were out. Girlfriend and I are trying to shed the lbs, and I wanna put together something she can make easily when I'm not around(freeze the patties, she can throw them on the grill whenever).
I've got a bunch of patties left from this batch, I can try cooking them different ways... these ones are bigger, too... not sure if that's better or worse. - Feeling Glucky?
turkey is a great way to go, but dryness can be an issue cause their is so little grease.
Bison is great if you've got a good butcher around (and if she'll eat it)
The Olive Oil is going to make it cook faster throughout. I'd do without next time. |

you must live in the city - senstroll
Live on a big lot with a naturalization zone behind us, with a creek that divides two fields. No neighbour behind us.
Plenty of people walk their dogs in the field but they clean up after them, several people got $2500 fines for not doing so. Big signs are posted with the info, dogs must be on leashes at all times to. |

Hmm, so with the olive oil in it... will it cook more evenly?
Like, if I take it off when the outside looks done(not charred- more like the inside should look) would they be cooked through? |

Yup- love everything but the cleanup
I wash things as I use them now, to make cleanup easier. - Feeling Glucky?
thats exactly what to do..
by the time i am done.. the only thing left to wash after the meal is the plates cups silverware we used and the serving dishes
not so much when the gf cooks.. she thinks making a mess is part of the fun
of course it is i tell her.. she doesnt have to clean it up lol |

Nah, it's 10 feet high at it's peek, in many places it was 4 feet...I know the Scots are dumbasses, but even they could figure out how to get over a 4 foot wall. |

I love the idea of bison, but it's always too dry.
We have a butcher in our neighbourhood who sells wacky slider burgers - bison, ostrich, camel, etc. It's fun when we have kids over: I put them out with a little picture of what they are eating. |

yup, should be. but again, it's getting hot fast, and stays hot. technically need to undercook them (visually) to keep them from drying out after you take them of the grill.
also, you a multi-flipper, or just once? |

ya Bison's tricky. Plus it's only REALLY good as a burger with Goats Cheese, and since he's going healthy, that's out
I do half lamb-half veal on occasion too. |

Long story short, we got to talking to a nice couple after a NASCAR race in Michigan a few years ago. They offered us up some of their homemade burgers - a mix of hamburger and wild boar that he had killed himself.
Keep in mind I was still drunk, but it was the best burger I've ever had.
You throw some pork in there, and even an idiot like Glucky can't dry it out. |

I know, the more you flip them the more juice they lose |
