It would be a huge task, but I wonder about the win% of teams that score within the last 60 seconds of a period.

You'd have to filter out empty netters.

- Leeman4Gilmour

I suppose you'd want to factor in how many times a team got scored on in the last 60 seconds, non empty-netter as well.

Hmmm....I'll be right back

Did Healy just praise Phil Kessel? What alternate universe are we living in?

That's as close to praise as you'll likely get from him

It is just a wee bit satisfying seeing Iginla getting poop-kicked by the team he screwed.

He didn't do his precious Flames any favors, either.

"Crobys off his game. You watch him and see hes been falling a lot. He is used to playing on his skates and when he's on the ground, he's not as effective, not as strong."
Good eye Healy. Good eye

That's the kind of brilliant, between the benches insight you get from a pro like Healy.

Unlikely, although we're at the disadvantage that Hall, Eberle, Nuge and Yakupov are probably the four best players on our team (putting aside each of their current values compared to Reilly and Gardiner).

Kessel
Kadri
JVR
Lupul
Phaneuf
Reimer, probably
heck even Gunnarsson and Bozak are higher up on the list of current impact players than Gardiner and Reilly.

You're a team that's positioned to make this move, the Oilers aren't really. I wasn't trying to troll or anything.

- Morris

I know you aren't a troll

They are your best players. They are also your best young players. They are also considered all but untouchable.

The Leafs don't have that kind of depth of young "superstar potential" talent. While neither Gardiner nor Rielly may ever become a superstar, they are the closest thing we have to it. They are FAR less able to just give one of those guys up to plug a hole than Edmonton is.

I find it hilarious that Edmonton blogs are chock full of people describing like 5 or 6 players as untouchable, and yet feel perfectly free to suggest another team trade its best young talent for an aging center whose best days are behind him.

I figured when pitts played a serious contender that this would be the result just not built for playoffs and the physicality that comes with. Serious lack of defence is what kills them and has for the last few years since they won the cup I forsee some changes coming they are going to trade a top tier player for a top tier d men to anchor that blue line. My guess would be neal will get packaged and they will go for weber or someone similar to him

They are so soft, it's embarrassing.

I get that you don't beat Boston by trying to beat the crap out of them, but you can't let them beat the crap out of you, either.

Marchand was a non-factor in the Leafs series because they didn't let him run wild. Ultimately, though, you beat them with speed.

Pittsburgh is trying to play a dump-and-chase game. Has nobody watched any game film from Toronto?

Has nobody watched any film from Montreal/Boston? They wrote the book on how you play Boston. Forget trying to grind it out. You put the puck into open space and win the races.

You don't win puck battles against Boston; you win races to them.

Malkin is a (frank)ing joke this series.

This is the most imbalanced team I've seen make it to the final 4 in recent memory.

All sizzle and no steak.

Excellent points pitts is looking almost lost out there against boston which I figured would have happened. They are getting frustrated and can't even make a pass anymore crosby wants to take over the game by himself. But it won't work against the b's they are too good

Letang should have his Norris nomination revoked.

The guy can't play defense when it counts. He's Mike Green all over again.

You'd think a guy who might be getting his last shot at a ring might have a little more fire in his game.

They're lucky they got the Isles, who play a wide open style that caters to an offense first team like the Pens, and the Sens, who can't score more than 2 per game.

Boston looks like the Harlem Globetrotters out here. Outscoring Pittsburgh 8-1 in the Pens' building? Wow.

Pittsburgh has a serious mess to clean up this off-season. Buy-out Fleury's mega-deal, find a legitimate goalie and some true NHL defensemen.

I think fleury going to another team that can play some (frank)ing d will do wonders for him. I don't care who you have in pitts net they give up way too many chances they might have just wore down fleury at this point.
